These are all of the Disneyland and California Adventure ride closures for November 2025 that have been announced so far. This list also includes some upcoming closures in the next few months for you to be aware of too. Closures are always subject to change. Disneyland does not always give much notice on when attractions will open and close. It’s good to know about these closures before going on your trip so you can plan around them and manage your expectations. There’s nothing worse than getting to the parks and finding out a ride you love is down.
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is one of the most popular roller coasters at The Disneyland Resort. This ride is in Frontierland in Disneyland park. It closed in early September 2025 for refurbishment. A reopening date for the ride has not been announced yet, leaving fans disappointed and hopeful that it will be open for their next trip.
It’s A Small World
It’s A Small World is a cute and relaxing boat ride attraction located in Fantasyland in Disneyland park. This attraction changes for the holiday season and becomes It’s A Small World Holiday where it has a Christmas overlay. They play a Christmas version of the iconic song, there are Christmas lights everywhere, and other Christmas decorations, like snowmen and holly berries. This ride is closing on October 31st and will remain closed through November 13th. The first day to ride it again will be November 14th, which is the first day of the holiday season at Disneyland. Redwood Creek Challenge Trail
Redwood Creek Challenge Trail is a really fun area in Grizzly Peak in California Adventure park. It’s great for kids to run around, climb, go on slides, meet Chip n Dale, and more. This area is also really nice and quiet, which is a nice break from the crowds in the theme park. During the Halloween season this area becomes Villains Grove for Oogie Boogie Bash. It will close on November 1st after the Halloween season, and will stay closed through November 13th. It will then reopen on November 14th as Redwood Creek Challenge Trail Welcomes Santa. This is where you can meet Santa Claus during the holiday season.
Storybook Land Canal Boats
Storybook Land Canal Boats is a classic boat ride attraction in Fantasyland in Disneyland. It has been there since Disneyland park first opened in July of 1955. This ride closed over the summer in July for some refurbishments, but it wasn’t until recently that we knew what Disneyland was doing to the attraction. They are adding Rapunzel’s tower from the movie Tangled to part of the ride. It’s going to be so magical and beautiful, especially at night. Disney said that this ride will reopen sometime this winter, but a specific date has not been given yet.
Casey Jr. Circus Train
Casey Jr. Circus Train is a cute and underrated train ride in Fantasyland in Disneyland. This ride goes through the same area as Storybook Land Canal Boats. You can see a lot of the miniature castles and things from the boat ride while riding this ride, which is really fun. This ride also closed in July 2025 and does not currently have a reopening date. Upcoming Closures
There are some closures coming up in the next few months that we already know about. Monsters, Inc. Mike & Sulley to the Rescue is going to be closing permanently in early 2026. The exact date for the closures has not been released yet. This area is changing to an Avatar themed land that will feature a new Avatar ride. See the new rides coming to the Disneyland Resort here. We also know that every year in January It’s A Small World Holiday and Haunted Mansion Holiday both close after the holiday season is over. This is to change them back to the classic versions of the ride. These closures usually only last about 1-2 weeks and are quick.
