These are all of the Walt Disney World closures for summer 2025. Some will be for the entire summer and others will be for a portion of the summer. It’s good to know about these before you go while you are planning your trip and what you want to do on it.
Test Track
Test Track is a car ride in EPCOT park. It closed in summer of 2024 for an extensive refurbishment. It does not have an exact opening date, but should reopen later in 2025.
Hall of Presidents
Hall of Presidents in located in Magic Kingdom park. It closed in January 2025 for some maintenance and has not reopened yet and a reopening date has not been announced.
Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin
Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin is in Tomorrowland in Magic Kingdom. It is going to close in August 2025 for a major refurbishment and should reopen sometime in 2026. They are going to update the blasters, the ride vehicles, and some effects on the attraction.
Muppets Courtyard
Muppets Courtyard is an area in Hollywood Studios. It is going to close permanently on June 8, 2025. This is to make room for a new Monsters, Inc. Land, which will have a suspension roller coaster. Read about the new Disney rides coming here.
Muppet*Vision 3D
Muppet*Vision 3D is in Muppets Courtyard, so this attraction will be permanently closing on June 8th. See more upcoming permanent closures at Disney World here.
PizzeRizzo
PizzeRizzo is a restaurant in Muppets Courtyard, so this too will permanently close on June 8th. Go here by June 7th if you want to eat here one more time.
Astro Orbiter
Astro Orbiter is a spinning attraction in Tomorrowland in Magic Kingdom. It closed for maintenance earlier this year and will remain closed for most or all of the summer.
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is a fun western themed roller coaster. It is located in Frontierland in Magic Kingdom. It closed in January 2025 and is expected to be closed for at least a year to add some magic to the ride.
Dumbo The Flying Elephant Playground
Dumbo The Flying Elephant in Magic Kingdom has a playground in the queue. The ride is open, but the playground is currently closed. It is expected to reopen soon, but will be closed for at least some of summer.
Blizzard Beach
Blizzard Beach will be open for the summer season, then it will close on September 7th for maintenance. Typhoon Lagoon will remain open at that time.
Winter Summerland Winter Course and Summer Course
Disney’s Winter Summerland Winter Course and Summer Course will undergo refurbishment from April 28 to June 16, 2025. They will be open for most of the summer.
Pool Closures At Resorts
There are pool closures at some Disney World resorts that guests will want to be aware of. This includes Stormalong Bay and Shipwreck Pool at Disney’s Yacht Club and Beach Club.
Room Closures At Resorts
There are some room closures at The Contemporary Resort’s Bay Lake Tower and at Port Orleans French Quarter Hotel .
Starbucks In Disney Springs West
The Starbucks that is on the west side of Disney Springs is closed right now and has been since spring. It shouldn’t be closed for much longer, but there is not a reopening date yet. Hopefully it will reopen this summer.
Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster
Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster is an Aerosmith themed roller coaster in Hollywood Studios. It will be closing soon, but the date is unknown for the closure. It could close later in the summer. The closure will be to change the theme of the ride from Aerosmith to Muppets.
