Walt Disney World in Florida has announced new lands and new rides coming, which unfortunately means that they need to free up some room by closing other things already in the parks. These are the upcoming permanent closures at Disney World that have been announced so far. They are in Animal Kingdom, Magic Kingdom, and Hollywood Studios.
DinoLand USA
DinoLand is a whole land in Animal Kingdom park that will be closing to make room for a new Tropical Americas land that will have Encanto and Indiana Jones rides. It is expected to permanently close in early 2026.
DINOSAUR
DINOSAUR is a ride in DinoLand that will be closing in early 2026. It’s a dark ride that travels back in time and is all about dinosaurs.
The Boneyard
The Boneyard is a dinosaur themed playground in DinoLand USA. It will also be closing along with the rest of the land, most likely early in 2026.
Restaurantosaurus
Restaurantosaurus is a quick-service restaurant in DinoLand USA that has to close. This restaurant serves lunch and dinner. They have hot dogs, cheeseburgers, sandwiches, and more.
Dino-Bite Snacks
Dino-Bite Snacks is also located in DinoLand USA in Animal Kingdom. This is where you can grab quick snacks like ice cream, Mickey pretzels, cookies, and drinks.
Trilo-Bites
Trilo-Bites is a quick-service snack restaurant in DinoLand in Animal Kingdom. They have Dole Whips, churros, Buffalo Chicken Chips, drinks, and more. It should be open for the rest of 2025.
Rivers of America
The Rivers of America in Magic Kingdom will be closing sometime in 2025. This is for a Frontierland expansion which includes two new Pixar Cars themed rides. See more about the new rides here.
Tom Sawyer Island
Tom Sawyer Island has to close along with the Rivers of America for the Frontierland Expansion because you travel by boat on the river to get to this island. It is expected to close sometime in 2025.
Liberty Square Riverboat
Liberty Square Riverboat is another attraction that is closing in Magic Kingdom in 2025. This boat sails on the Rivers of America.
Muppets Courtyard
Muppets Courtyard is an area of Hollywood Studios park. This whole land will be closing permanently on June 8, 2025. The reason for this closure is that this area is going to be changed into a Monsters, Inc. land, which will include rides and restaurants based on the movie.
Muppet*Vision 3D
Muppet*Vision 3D is an attraction in Muppets Courtyard. It is permanently closing on June 7, 2025. If this is an attraction you love, then try to go on it before then.
Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano
Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano is an Italian restaurant in Muppets Courtyard in Hollywood Studios. It is closing May 11, 2025, so May 10th is the last day to eat here.
PizzeRizzo
PizzeRizzo is another Muppets Courtyard restaurant that is about to close. It is closing forever on June 7th.
Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith
Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster is not closing, but the Aerosmith version of this roller coaster is going to be gone soon. It will be changing to having a Muppets theme, so at least Muppets fans will have a new ride to go on. A closure date has not been announced, but it will most likely be sometime in 2025.
