These are all the things to know if you’re going to Disneyland this summer. This includes entertainment, celebrations, holidays, closures, and more. It’s good to know these things so you can plan ahead for what you want to do while you’re at Disneyland and California Adventure.
The Disneyland Resort 70th Celebration
The Disneyland Resort 70th Celebration started in May and will last most of the summer until mid-August. This comes with 70th decor in the parks, special food items, new entertainment, new character outfits, changes to rides, and more.
New Shows
This summer you can see some new shows. Disneyland has Stitch’s Interplanetary Beach Party Blast in Tomorrowland Terrace and Pixar Pals Playtime Party at the Fantasyland Theatre. California Adventure has a new show called Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live that is in the Disney Theater in Hollywood Land.
Meet Rex From Toy Story
This summer as part of the 70th Celebration, you can meet Rex, the green dinosaur from the Toy Story movies. He’ll be on Pixar Pier in California Adventure park.
Disneyland’s 70th Birthday
Disneyland park turns 70 this summer and the actual birthday for it is July 17, 2025. There will most likely be some extra special entertainment and celebrations on this big day.
Walt Disney – A Magical Life Opens
Walt Disney – A Magical Life is a new show coming to the Main Street Opera House. It will feature a new audio-animatronic of Walt Disney. This debuts on Disneyland’s actual birthday, July 17th.
Nighttime Entertainment
Disneyland has some new and returning nighttime spectaculars that you can watch throughout the summer. This includes Paint The Night, Wondrous Journeys, and World of Color One.
Disneyland Anniversary Ticket Offer
Disneyland has a special ticket offer going on for the summer. You can get a 4 day one park per day ticket for $100/day or a 3 day one park per day ticket for $120/day.
Grad Nite
Grad Nite is happening on June 1, 4, 6, 8, 11, and 13th. There will be increased crowds in the parks on these days and they will have a celebration in California Adventure at night.
4th Of July
4th of July will be on the first Friday in July. There will be increased crowds for the holiday since people will be off from work and on vacations. Disneyland usually does patriotic music, a special 4th of July firework show, a flag ceremony, and more.
Ride Closures
Ride closures that we know of so far for parts of the summer include Matterhorn Bobsleds, Chip n Dale’s GadgetCOASTER, and Haunted Mansion. See more info and dates for the closures here.
Other Closures
Other closures for the summer that are not rides include Pixie Hollow, Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room, Napa Rose, and more.
Pride Nite
Pride Nite will be on June 16th and June 18th. This is a Disneyland after dark event in Disneyland park. The park will close early on those nights at 9pm.
It’s A Small World 3rd Verse
It’s A Small World will be getting a 3rd verse to the classic song. This is in honor of Disney legend Richard Sherman. The new verse will make its debut in the ride on July 17th for Disneyland’s birthday.
70th Celebration Ends In August
The Disneyland Resort 70th Celebration will run for all or most of the summer of 2025. The last day for the celebration has not been announced yet, but it is expected to run until mid-August.
Halloween Time At The Disneyland Resort
Halloween is an exciting time at Disneyland with a lot of seasonal decor, food options, new character costumes, and more. This season starts at the end of summer on August 22nd and ends on Halloween, October 31st.
Plaza de la Familia
Plaza de la Familia is at Paradise Gardens in California Adventure park. It will start on August 22nd and go until November 2nd.
