These are all of the upcoming changes to Disney World rides in 2025 and 2026 that we know about so far. More can always be added to the line-up and likely will be. These changes come with closures, some permanent and others temporary.
Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin Updates

Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin is a popular and interactive attraction in Tomorrowland in Magic Kingdom. This ride is going to close on August 4, 2025 to get some big updates. It will then reopen sometime in 2026. It is going to get new scenes, new ride vehicles, and new astro blasters.
Rock N Roller Coaster Retheming

Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith will stay the same through 2025, then in 2026 it will close to change from an Aerosmith theme to a Muppets theme. It should reopen with the Muppets theme later in 2026.
Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run

Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run is a popular ride that is located in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Hollywood Studios in Disney World. It is going to be getting some updates in 2026. It will have adventures with The Mandalorian and Grogu and will have new locations on the ride like Tattooine, Endor, Coruscant, and Bespin.
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad

Big Thunder Mountain Railroad closed in January of 2025 to undergo a big refurbishment. Disney has said they are adding some extra magic to the roller coaster. It should open in early 2026. It is located in Frontierland in Magic Kingdom park. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is one of the fastest rides in Disney World with a top speed of 36 mph. DINOSAUR Permanently Closing

DINOSAUR is a beloved attraction in DinoLand USA in Animal Kingdom park. It is going to permanently close in early 2026 with the rest of DinoLand USA. This permanent closure is to make way for a new Tropical Americas land featuring an Encanto ride, an Indiana Jones ride, and more. Read about the new rides coming to Disney World here.
