Disney World has some surprisingly fast thrill rides in its parks. I’m going to share the 11 fastest rides and exactly how fast they are.
Test Track
Test Track is a ride in EPCOT that reaches a speed of 65 mph! It is the fastest ride in all of Disney World and it is faster than any ride at Disneyland. This ride is not too intense for most people since the fast part is just the test drive at the end of the attraction.
Guardians Of The Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind
This is another EPCOT ride and it comes in second place with a top speed of 60 mph. This roller coaster opened in 2022 and has been very popular ever since.
Tron Lightcycle Run
Tron Lightcycle Run reaches a speed of 60 mph as well. It is located in Tomorrowland in Magic Kingdom. The same ride is also in Shanghai Disneyland.
Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith
Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster is located in Hollywood Studios in Disney World. It’s an exhilarating ride that goes very fast at 57 mph and plays popular Aerosmith songs while you ride.
Expedition Everest – Legend Of The Forbidden Mountain
This roller coaster has a top speed of 50 mph. It is in Animal Kingdom park and opened in 2006. You go to the top of the mountain, then go backwards down the mountain.
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure reaches 40 mph on the big drop from 5 stories high. This is a cute log flume ride in Magic Kingdom.
Slinky Dog Dash
Slinky Dog Dash also goes 40 mph. It is located in Toy Story Land in Hollywood Studios. It’s set in Andy’s backyard like you’ll see oversized toys from the movies.
The Twilight Zone Tower Of Terror
This awesome ride pulls you up and down with a top speed of 39 mph. It’s in Hollywood Studios in the Sunset Boulevard area. This spooky ride is based on the The Twilight Zone tv show.
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
This wild roller coaster goes 36 mph at its fastest part. You’ll go through a haunted gold mine on a mine train. It’s located in Frontierland in Magic Kingdom.
Seven Dwarfs Mine Train
The Seven Dwarfs Mine Train is another Magic Kingdom ride. It has a top speed of 34 mph. It opened in 2014 and is in Fantasyland.
Space Mountain
Space Mountain in Tomorrowland in Magic Kingdom has a top speed of 27 mph. It feels faster than that since it is completely dark and you don’t know which direction you’ll be going next.
