Did you know there are things you can get for free in Disney World? Some of them will require a ticket to the Disney parks to access, but some don’t. Remember these for the next time you go to Disney World!
Transportation Cards
Transportation cards are handed out by some cast members, especially the ones who run transportation services like the monorail, boats, and buses. You can ask them if they have them and keep them as a souvenir.
Celebration Buttons
Celebration buttons are free and perfect for letting everyone know you’re celebrating something. You can get them for your birthday, anniversary, honeymoon, or anything else you’re celebrating. You can get them from guest services in the parks, the Disney World hotels, and some gift shops.
Pixie Dust
Pixie dusting is where a cast member will sprinkle glitter over you with a wand. This is so fun for kids. You can go to Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique in the castle or Castle Couture and ask for it.
Campfires
Campfires are done at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Campground. They host hip n Dale’s Campfire Sing-A-Long that you can attend for free.
Drawing Classes
You can do free drawing lessons of Disney characters at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort and at Animal Kingdom’s Animation Experience at Conservation Station. If you have little ones who aren’t ready to draw, you can ask for coloring pages for them.
Animal Viewing
If you want to see beautiful animals for free, go to Animal Kingdom Lodge. There are animals, like giraffes, roaming around that you can watch. You do not need to stay here to walk around or eat at the restaurants.
Movies Under the Stars
There are a lot of Disney World hotels that do movie viewings in the evening from the pool or on the grass. This is a fun family activity that is free for resort guests.
Balloons
Sometimes you can get free balloons when you check into Disney World hotels. You can ask the cast member at the front desk if they have them. Animal Kingdom Lodge does not give them out to protect the animals.
Lego Fun
There is a Lego store in Disney Springs where you can go and build with Legos they have out. You do not need an admission ticket to go to Disney Springs.
Free Chocolate
Disney Springs has a Ghirardelli shop where they sometimes hand out free samples of chocolates.
Live Entertainment
Another thing you can do at Disney Springs is enjoy the free live entertainment of singers, dancers, and more.
Poolside Games
Some of the Disney resorts have free poolside games that you can play. You’ll usually find them near the pool area.
Electrical Water Pageant
The Electric Water Pageant is a light parade on Bay Lake, which is near Magic Kingdom. This is not always running, but you can check the schedules for this and other parades.
Stickers
A lot of Disney World Cast Members have stickers that they’ll hand out to kids for free. You can always ask Cast Members if they have some if no one is approaching you with them.
Birthday Cupcakes
When you eat at restaurants on your birthday you should tell your server that you’re celebrating a birthday. This is not guaranteed, but they might give you a free birthday cupcake for your special day.
Club Cool
Club Cool is in EPCOT. You can go here to sample different Coke products. Beverly is known for being very gross, but it’s a must-try if you’ve never had it.
Fireworks
Fireworks are included in your park ticket. You will not need to pay extra to view them. If you don’t have a park ticket, there are plenty of places to view them for free though. You can go to Disney’s Contemporary Resort, Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, or other Disney hotels.
Wilderness Explorers
Wilderness Explorers is something you can do in Animal Kingdom for free when you’re in the park. You’ll do some nature activities, which are basically a scavenger hunt and you’ll get badges, which are stickers. You’ll find the place for this at the end of the bridge on Discovery Island.
Concerts
The America Gardens Theatre in EPCOT has free concerts from time to time. They have them more frequently during events like the Food and Wine Festival and other festivals.
Epcot Kidcot
There are Kidcot Fun Stops throughout EPCOT’s World Showcase. They have art projects and educational activities.
