These are all of the major things to know if you are going to Disneyland in the last half of 2025. This includes holidays, events, closures, and more. Knowing all of this info will help you plan the best Disneyland vacation.
Halloween Time
Halloween time starts at The Disneyland Resort on August 22nd and goes until October 31st. There will be characters in costumes, Radiator Screams, spooky Halloween foods, decor throughout both parks and more.
Oogie Boogie Bash
Oogie Boogie Bash is a separate ticked event on select evenings in California Adventure park. This starts on August 17th and the last event is October 31st. California Adventure will close early on event nights.
Plaza de la Familia
Plaza de la Familia is a Coco celebration with live performances. It is in Paradise Gardens Park in California Adventure. This starts on August 22nd and goes until November 2nd.
Disneyland 70th Celebration
The Disneyland Resort 70th Celebration started in May of 2025 and will go until summer of 2026. Certain things like shows and parades will be unavailable during the Halloween and Christmas seasons, but other parts of the celebration will continue during the holidays.
Disneyland Halloween Half Marathon
The Disneyland Halloween Half Marathon will be September 4th through 7th. There could be higher crowds in Disneyland and California Adventure park during this weekend.
Ride Closures
Ride closures that have so far been announced include Storybook Land Canal Boats, Radiator Springs Racers, Incredicoaster, Star Tours, and more. Read all about the closures and dates for them here.
Other Closures
Other closures that are not rides include Napa Rose which should reopen this fall and the walkway between Cars Land and Avengers Campus. They are doing construction there as part of the expansion where they are adding new Avengers rides. Read about the new rides coming to Disneyland here.
Upcoming Permanent Closures
Monsters, Inc. Mike & Sulley to the Rescue is a ride in Hollywood Land in California Adventure. This ride will be permanently closing in early 2026, so if you’re going to Disneyland in the last half of 2025, then this might be your last chance to ride it.
Halloween Rides
During the Halloween season there are a few rides that change. The Halloween themed rides are Haunted Mansion Holiday, Mater’s Graveyard JamBOOree, Luigi’s Honkin’ Haul-O-Ween, Guardians of the Galaxy – Monsters After Dark.
Halloween Day
Halloween day is on Friday October 31st. There will be an Oogie Boogie Bash that night, so California Adventure will close early. Remember, you cannot wear costumes to the parks unless it is to Oogie Boogie Bash.
Mickey & Minnie’s Birthday
Mickey & Minnie share a birthday on November 18th. Sometimes Disneyland does a special birthday parade, hands out birthday buttons, and the characters will wear birthday outfits.
Thanksgiving
Thanksgiving 2025 is on Thursday November 27th. There are usually some special holiday menus are certain restaurants. Also, there will be increased crowds this day and the following weekend because a lot of people are off from work and school for the holiday.
Christmas Season
The Christmas season at Disneyland will be from November 14, 2025 to January 7, 2026. The castle will have lights and garland, the characters will dress up in Christmas outfits on Main Street, Main Street will have a big Christmas tree, there will be holiday menu items, and more.
Christmas Rides
The rides that change for Christmas are Haunted Mansion Holiday, It’s A Small World Holiday, Luigi’s Joy to the Whirl, and Mater’s Jingle Jamboree.
Disney Festival of Holidays
Disney Festival of Holidays is a festival in California Adventure park from November 14th through January 7, 2026. There will be festive foods, live entertainment, Mirabel’s Gift of the Season, Holiday Toy Drummers, and more.
Christmas Day
Christmas day will be Thursday December 25, 2025. There will be increased crowds on this day and the weeks surrounding it since people will be out of school for winter break and a lot of people take time off work during these weeks too.
New Year’s Eve
New Year’s Eve is on Wednesday December 31, 2025. This is always one of the busiest days at Disneyland and California Adventure. Disneyland does a special New Year’s Eve firework show at the castle and California Adventure usually does a special World of Color show for the holiday. There are also New Year’s Eve parties and countdowns throughout the parks.
Halloween & Fall Character Dining
There are some Halloween and fall themed character dining meals you can do. Mickey’s Autumn Adventures Buffet is at Storyteller’s Cafe August 22nd through November 16th. Clarabelle’s Enchanted Halloween Dinner is at Storyteller’s Cafe from August 22nd to October 31st. Goofy’s Kitchen Celebrates Halloween is at the Disneyland Hotel from August 22nd through October 31st.
Christmas Character Dining
There will also be some Christmas character dining experiences. Mickey’s Christmas Carol Feast is at Storyteller’s Cafe, Daisy’s Holiday Pajama Party is at Storyteller’s Cafe, and Goofy’s Kitchen Celebrates the Holidays is at the Disneyland Hotel.
