These are all of the closures you can expect to see at Walt Disney World this week from August 4th through August 10th. There is a new closure this week that will last for a while and some closures have been going for months already. It’s good to know these closures before starting you Disney World vacation.
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad

Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is in Frontierland in Magic Kingdom. It closed in January to undergo a big refurbishment. It is expected to reopen sometime in 2026.
Starbucks on the West Side of Disney Springs

Starbucks on the West side of Disney Springs is currently closed. It should reopen sometime this summer, but an exact date has not yet been announced.
Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin

Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin is closing on Monday August 4th. The last day to go on this for now is August 3rd. This ride is getting a major rehaul and should reopen sometime in 2026. Read about the changes coming to this ride here.
The Rivers of America

The Rivers of America, Tom Sawyer Island, and Liberty Square Riverboat all closed permanently on July 7, 2025. A new Pixar Cars themed land called Piston Peak National Park will be built here and feature two rides. Read about the new Disney World rides coming here.
Muppets Courtyard

Muppets Courtyard, including Muppet*Vision 3D, restaurants, and everything else closed permanently on June 8, 2025. A new Monsters, Inc. themed land will be built in its place.
