Disneyland and California Adventure are not ideal in the rain, but there are still a lot of things you can do to have fun and stay out of the rain a lot. There are rides to go on, shows to see, restaurants to eat at, and more. This list has all of the things to do at Disneyland when it’s raining.
Animation Academy
Animation Academy is in California Adventure on Buena Vista Street. You can go there for a 30 minute drawing lesson from an animator. This is a free activity.
Enchanted Tiki Room
The Enchanted Tiki Room is located in Adventureland in Disneyland. Get a Dole Whip and go eat it in the Enchanted Tiki Room while you listen to the music and watch the birds.
It’s A Small World
It’s A Small World’s line in outdoors, but moves pretty quickly, then the whole ride is indoors after you board your boat. This ride is 15 minutes long, which is a really nice break from the rain. See what all of the other longest rides at Disneyland are here.
Pirates of the Caribbean
Pirates of the Caribbean is another great attraction for a rainy day. Some of the queue is outdoors and the last part is indoors, but the entire ride is indoors.
Turtle Talk With Crush
Turtle Talk With Crush is entirely indoors. It’s an interactive show with Crush from Finding Nemo. It’s in the Animation Building in California Adventure.
Main Street Cinema
The Main Street Cinema is on Main Street, USA in Disneyland. It’s a small cinema room where they play shorts, like Mickey Mouse that you can watch.
Mickey’s Rainy Day Cavalcade Parade
Sometimes on rainy days they’ll do Mickey’s Rainy Day Cavalcade Parade where Mickey and some of his friends ride down Main Street in a covered Main Street Vehicle.
Disney Jr. Dance Party!
In California Adventure you can go watch the Disney Jr. Dance Party in the Disney Theater. This is an indoor show that is really fun for kids. You’ll see Vampirina, Doc McStuffins, and Mickey and Minnie in their Roadster Racers outfits.
Mickey’s PhilharMagic
Mickey’s PhilharMagic is an indoor 3D concert movie that you can go watch. This is nice activity to give you a break from the rain.
Meet Anna And Elsa
In the Animation Building in California Adventure you can meet Anna and Elsa from Frozen. They wear their outfits from Frozen 2. There can be long waits for this, but you’ll be waiting indoors and out of the rain.
Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway
Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway is a Mickey Mouse ride in Toontown. It’s super cute and great for a rainy day. The ride queue is indoors and has lots of fun things to look at. Also the whole ride is indoors. Read here to find out how to go on Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway without a long wait.
Minnie & Friends – Breakfast in the Park
Minnie & Friends – Breakfast in the Park is at the Plaza Inn in Disneyland. There is some outdoor seating, but if it’s raining, then request to be seated indoors. This is a really fun character breakfast where you meet Minnie Mouse and other characters. Another fun character meal is at Goofy’s Kitchen. You can read all about it here.
Eat At Indoor Restaurants
You won’t want to eat outside in the rain, but there are a lot of indoor restaurants to choose from. Some of them are Alien Pizza Planet, Golden Horseshoe, Red Rose Taverne, and Flo’s V8 Cafe.
Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance
Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance is an indoor ride in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Disneyland. You’ll have to be outside a little walking around, but you’ll be inside for a long time.
Snow White’s Enchanted Wish
Snow White’s Enchanted Wish is in Fantasyland in Disneyland. The line for it is covered and the whole ride is inside, so you will stay dry on it.
The Little Mermaid ~ Ariel’s Undersea Adventure
The Little Mermaid ~ Ariel’s Undersea Adventure is a ride that’s great in the rain. The queue is pretty covered with half of it being entirely indoors. The entire ride is indoors.
Monster’s, Inc. Mike & Sulley To The Rescue
Monster’s, Inc. Mike & Sulley to the Rescue is a Monster’s, Inc. themed ride in California Adventure that is entirely indoors. It’s a cute and fun ride. If you have a group of 2 you can ask a Cast Member at the entrance for a Buddy Pass where you can skip the line!
