Unfortunately there are some permanent closures coming to Disney World and Disneyland in the near future. These are all of the permanent closures coming to Disney parks in the second half of 2025. These closures are to make room for new areas and new rides.
Rivers of America
The Rivers of America is an area of water in Magic Kingdom. This will permanently close on July 7th, so the last day to visit is July 6th. It is going to be a new Pixar Cars area called Piston Peak.
Tom Sawyer Island
Tom Sawyer Island is an island that you get to by crossing the Rivers of America. This will also be closing permanently on July 7, 2025.
Liberty Square Riverboat
Liberty Square Riverboat is a boat that sails on the Rivers of America in Magic Kingdom park. This whole area is closing on July 6th. See a list of the new rides coming to this area here.
Monsters, Inc. Mike & Sulley To The Rescue
Monsters, Inc. Mike & Sulley to the Rescue is closing permanently in early 2026. This is to make room for a new Avatar land that is coming to Disneyland.
Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith
Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith is closing permanently in early 2026. The whole ride is not closing, but it will be rethemed to have The Muppets on the attraction. See more Disney World rides that have been rethemed here.
DinoLand USA
DinoLand USA is a land in Animal Kingdom park in Walt Disney World. This entire land is going to close in easrly 2026 to make room for a new Tropical Americas area.
Dinosaur
DINOSAUR is an attraction in DinoLand USA that will close permanently in early 2026. An exact date has not yet been announced.
The Boneyard
The Boneyard is a fun playground area for kids to run around and go on slides. It is in DinoLand USA and will close permanently in early 2026.
Restaurantosaurus
Restaurantosaurus is a quick service restaurant located in DinoLand in Animal Kingdom park. It is closing permanently in early 2026.
Dino-Bite Snacks
Dino-Bite Snacks is another restaurant that will closed its doors in the first part of 2026. It is in DinoLand USA.
Trilo-Bites
Trilo-Bites is also a quick-service restaurant closing its doors for good in the beginning of 2026. It is in DinoLand USA also. The new area will have an Encanto ride, Indiana Jones ride, and more.
