1. Snow White
Snow White was the very first Disney princess, so you definitely can’t leave her out when you list the names of all of the Disney princesses.
She is from the movie Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs that came out in 1937. The movie is based off of a Brother’s Grimm fairytale.
The Evil Queen uses her magic mirror and finds out the Snow White is the fairest of them all. She’s very jealous and poisons Snow White with an apple that puts her in a deep sleep.

Cinderella’s Fairy Godmother comes to the rescue and helps her get to the ball, but she must be home by midnight.
In a rush to get home, she loses her glass slipper at the ball. Prince Charming sets out on a mission to find who the glass slipper belongs to because that is his true love.
Other characters in this movie are her mice friends, Jac and Gus, and the evil cat Lucifer.

Merryweather is able to change the curse so that instead of dying, she is sent into a deep sleep and must be kissed by a prince to wake up.

- Aurora’s name was changed to Briar Rose by the fairies.
- Aurora is famous for having very little dialogue in Sleeping Beauty and is commonly credited with only 18 lines.

4. Ariel
Ariel is from the movie The Little Mermaid that came out in 1989. She is my favorite Disney princess and the first one I think of when I try to remember the names of all the Disney princesses!
Ariel is very interested in humans and how they live on land. One time she goes to the surface of the water, sees a handsome prince, and falls in love with him.
She gives Ursula her voice in exchange for becoming human. She has to make Prince Eric fall in love within 3 days or else Ursula will keep her captive.
Other main characters in this movie are her dad King Triton, Flounder the fish, Sebastian the crab, and Grimsby.

- Ariel has six sisters. Their names are Attina, Alana, Adella, Aquata, Arista, and Adrina.
- She is 16 years old.

- There is a scene in the beginning of the movie where you can see Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Goofy, and Kermit The Frog.
5. Belle
Belle is from the movie Beauty And The Beast. It came out in 1991.
Belle becomes a prisoner of the beast. He was a prince who was cursed into being the beast until he can love and be loved.
This has to happen before the last petal falls off a rose, making the curse permanent.
Other characters in this movie are the villain Gaston, Belle’s dad Maurice, and the castle servants named Cogsworth, Mrs Potts Chip, and Lumiere.

He goes to the Cave Of Wonders and gets three wishes from a Genie. He uses one to become a prince so he can win Princess Jasmine’s heart.
This movie also has the villain Jafar, Jasmine’s dad Sultan, the tiger Rajah, the monkey Abu, and a bird named Iago.

- Jasmine is not the main character in the movie, Aladdin is.
- Jasmine does not wear a dress for her official outfit.
- Her talking voice and singing voices are done by different people.
7. Pocahontas
Pocahontas is from the movie Pocahontas. It came out in 1995. I remember going to the drive-in movies to see this for my sister’s birthday, which is the day the movie was released!
Pocahontas is a Native American and she meets a European man named John Smith. They like each other, but her father, Chief Powhatan, does not approve.
John’s fellow men want to rob the Native American’s of their gold and it causes problems between their two groups.
Other characters in this movie are the racoon Meeko, Flit the hummingbird, Kokoum, Grandma Willow, and Governor Ratcliffe.

- The movie was released in the year of the real Pocahontas’ 400th birthday.

8. Mulan
Mulan is the princess in the movie Mulan that came out in 1998. Mulan’s father is going to be drafted into the Chinese military since the Hun Army is invading China.
Mulan is worried about him not making it, so she pretends to be a boy and joins the military so he doesn’t have to.

Together they try to break the spell so they can be human again and she can open her own restaurant.

Mother Gothel uses Rapunzel’s hair to keep looking young.
Flynn Ryder comes to the tower one day and Rapunzel runs away with him because she wants to see the floating lanterns that happen every year on her birthday.
