These are all of the California Adventure and Disneyland rides that permanently closed in the last 10 years. Some have been changed to be new rides and others don’t exist at all anymore. They are super nostalgic and have been missed by Disneyland fans.
Tower of Terror
Tower of Terror was one of the absolute spookiest rides in The Disneyland Resort, but it is gone forever now. You have to go to Disney World to ride it these days. This ride was changed to be Guardians of the Galax – Mission: BREAKOUT!
Splash Mountain
Splash Mountain was a classic log flume attraction in Disneyland park. It opened in 1989 and closed in January 2023. The ride was changed to be Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, which opened in November 2024.
California Screamin’
California Screamin’ was an opening day attraction in California Adventure park. It was there from 2001 to 2017. It was rethemed to be Incredicoaster, which opened a year later in 2018.
Red Car Trolley
The Red Car Trolley was an attraction that took you around California Adventure from 2012 to 2020 and again from 2022 till it permanently closed in February 2025. This closure was to make room for an Avengers Campus expansion. New rides will be coming to this area and also other areas of the park. Read all about the new Disney rides coming here.
Luigi’s Flying Tires
Luigi’s Flying Tires was a pretty short lived ride in Cars Land. It opened when the land did on June 15, 2012, then closed in February of 2015. The space for it became Luigi’s Rollickin’ Roadsters, which opened on March 7, 2016 and is still there today.
It’s Tough To Be A Bug
It’s Tough to be a Bug was in A Bugs Land from 2002 to 2018 when this whole land permanently closed. Unfortunately, more permanent closures are coming to this park and other Disney parks soon. Read about the permanent closures you can expect to see in 2025 and 2026 here.
Heimlich’s Chew Chew Train
Heimlich’s Chew Chew Train was another attraction in A Bugs Land that is now gone forever. It operated from 2002 to 2018 and was a cute little train ride.
Tuck and Roll’s Drive ‘Em Buggies
Tuck and Roll’s Drive ‘Em Buggies was a bumper cars style attraction in A Bugs Land in California Adventure. It opened in 2002 and closed permanently in 2018.
Flik’s Flyers
When A Bug’s Land closed, that meant that Flik’s Flyers also had to close. It was open from 2002 to 2018. The ride was moved to Pixar Pier where the Maliboomer used to be and it was rethemed to be Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind.
Francis’ Ladybug Boogie
Francis’ Ladybug Boogie is the last of the permanent closures in A Bugs Land. Like the other attractions, it was in operation from 2002 to 2018. The area that A Bugs Land used to occupy is now Avengers Campus.
