Disney parks are super fun to visit, but it can definitely be stressful and feel a little crazy.
It’s not typically a relaxing way to vacation, but you can use our tips to have a stress-free Disney vacation.
These tips work for Disneyland and Walt Disney World. You’ll be feeling like a Disney pro with how smoothly your trip goes!
1. Visit When Crowds Are Lower
Visiting when crowds are lower is much less overwhelming and overstimulating. You’ll have lower wait times and won’t be surrounded by quite as many people at all times.
Keep in mind though, the Disney parks are still busy even on the lower crowd days. So prepare yourself mentally for that.
You can look at crowd calendars online before deciding on dates for your trip. Try to choose dates that are projected to not be quite as busy.
2. Stay On-Site
Staying at an on-site Disney hotel has so many benefits and a lot of them will reduce stress.
They are closer to the parks. The Disney World ones have transportation to the parks, which is a big win win in my book. The Disneyland hotels are all within walking distance of the parks there.

3. Get Dining Reservations
Get all of your dining reservations 60 days before your park day to ensure that you get the restaurants and times you want.
This will prevent you needing to go the restaurants while on vacay and just hoping they can squeeze you in for a reservation.
I also recommend having some dining reservations because eating at the sit down restaurants is really nice and much more relaxing than eating at quick service restaurants. We usually like to do one of these each day on our trips.
4. Have A Plan
Having a plan and making decisions before your trip is a great way to reduce stress.
It can be hard to make decisions in the moment and you don’t want to spend your time in the parks researching restaurants and trying to understand the Disney parks apps.
Before we go on our Disney trips we decide which restaurants we want to eat at and which rides we want to prioritize going on.
5. Use Genie+
If you want to go on a lot of attractions, then Genie+ is for you! It will significantly cut down your wait times for rides.
Waiting in line for long periods of time feels like wasted time and is stressful when there is a lot you want to get done in the day.
Spend time learning Genie+ before you go so you can really maximize it.
6. Take Breaks
Taking breaks is so good and will make your trip much more relaxing and rejuvenating.
You can take break days where you rest and spend a day at your resort or your breaks can be a portion of a day. You can head back to your hotel or find a quieter place to sit in the parks for your break.
Conclusion
It may seem wild, but it is possible to have an stress-free or very low stress Disney vacation.
Apply our tips and you’ll see what we mean. We hope you have a magical vacay!
