These are the important things to know if you’re going to Disneyland in the fall of 2025. There are a lot of holidays, events, closures, and more to be aware of. This will help you to better plan your trip and have a magical time.
Halloween Season

Halloween at the Disneyland Resort starts earlier than most Halloween activities do. It starts at Disneyland on August 22nd and goes until October 31st. There will be special Halloween treats, characters in costumes, Halloween themed rides, decor, and so much more.
Oogie Boogie Bash

Oogie Boogie Bash is on select nights from August 17th to October 31st. It is an after hours event in California Adventure park that you need a separate ticket to attend. Just be aware that if you’re going to California Adventure on an Oogie Boogie Bash day, the park will close early for it.
The 70th Celebration Continues

Disneyland’s 70th Celebration started in May and is expected to run until summer of 2026. Some of the events from it are pausing during the Halloween season, but others will continue this fall. Read about everything Disneyland is doing for the 70th celebration here.
Disneyland Halloween Half Marathon Weekend

Disneyland Halloween Half Marathon Weekend is September 4th through 7th. You can expect some higher crowds on this weekend in the parks.
Plaza de la Familia

Plaza de la Familia is at Paradise Gardens Park in California Adventure. It is Coco themed and there are live shows. It will start on August 22nd and go until November 2nd.
Halloween

Halloween day is Friday October 31st. This will be the last day to enjoy the Halloween season at Disneyland and California Adventure. There will also be the last Oogie Boogie Bash that night.
Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is on Thursday November 27th this year. You can expect increased crowds since a lot of people have time off of work and school for the Thanksgiving holiday. Disneyland does not do a ton for Thanksgiving, but there are usually special menu items and character meets for the holiday.
Mickey and Minnie’s Birthday

Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse share a birthday on November 18th. Disneyland usually does a special birthday parade for them, hands out birthday buttons, and sometimes they dress up in birthday attire.
Ride Closures

Ride closures are always subject to change and Disneyland will likely add more to the list for this fall. Radiator Springs Racers is closing mid-August and will hopefully open sometime in the fall. Summer closures that could last through the fall include Storybook Land Canal Boats, Casey Jr. Circus Train, Incredicoaster, and Star Tours. It’s A Small World usually closes mid-October and reopens for the Christmas season with its holiday overlay.
Other Closures

Other closures that are expected for this fall are Napa Rose and the walkway between Cars Land and Avengers Campus.
Christmas Starts

The Christmas season always starts a little early at Disneyland. This year it will start on November 14th and end on January 7, 2026. There will be holiday decor in the parks, characters in Christmas outfits, Haunted Mansion Holiday, a Christmas parade, holiday fireworks, holiday treats, and so much more.
Mickey’s Autumn Adventures Buffet

Mickey’s Autumn Adventures Buffet is a character dining experience you can do for breakfast or dinner at Storyteller’s Cafe in the Grand Californian Hotel & Spa. You can do it from August 22nd through November 16th and will need reservations.
The Last Fall To Ride Monsters, Inc.

Monsters, Inc. Mike & Sulley to the Rescue is a slow-moving Monsters, Inc. themed ride in Hollywood Land in California Adventure park. It is going to be closing permanently in early 2026, so this is the last fall to experience this ride. Read about upcoming permanent closures coming to Disney parks here.
