If you’re going on a Disney Cruise Line vacation, your ship might be stopping at Disney’s private island Castaway Cay in the Bahamas. There is so much to do on this island. These are some of the really fun things to do on Disney Castaway Cay.
Family Beaches
Disney Castaway Cay island has two family beaches. They are Castaway Family Beach and the beach area by Pelican Plunge. Guests of all ages can go to these beaches and experience them.
Pelican Plunge
Pelican Plunge is an area for guests of all ages. They have water slides and a big play platform here that are fun to explore.
Snorkeling
You can rent snorkel gear from Gil’s Fins and Boats or from Flippers & Floats. This is a fun island to snorkel on because there is an area under the water with statues of Prince Eric, Mickey Mouse, and more.
Bike Rentals
You can rent bikes on Castaway Cay and ride them around on a designated bicycle path around the island. Head to the bike rental area to do this.
Castaway Ray’s Stingray Adventure
There is a section of Castaway Cay that is full of stingrays. You can do Castaway Ray’s Stingray Adventure to see them, touch them, and interact with these animals.
Serenity Bay
Serenity Bay is a beach area that is for adults only. All guests must be 18 years of age or older to go into this area. This is nice if you want a quieter beach experience or if you are not traveling with children.
Meet Characters
There are characters throughout the island that you can meet, especially in the areas when you first get to Castaway Cay. Common ones you might see are Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Goofy, Pluto, and Captain Hook.
Rent Water Equipment
Go to Gil’s Fins and Boats to rent kayaks, water trikes, paddleboats, and more. This is a fun way to experience the island if you want to do more than just the beach.
Disney Castaway Cay 5K
Anyone who goes to Castaway Cay can run a 5K around the island. When you finish the race you will receive a Castaway Cay 5K medal.
Eat Lunch
Castaway Cay has 3 buffets you can get lunch from. They are called Cookie’s BBQ, Cookie’s Too BBQ, and Serenity Bay BBQ. They have lots of barbecued meats, corn on the cob, fruit, and also unlimited soft serve ice cream cones.
Shop For Castaway Cay Merch
Castaway Cay has a gift shop you can shop at for exclusive Castaway Cay merch that you cannot buy anywhere else. They have spirit jerseys, other shirts and clothing, beach bags, and more.
Excursions
Disney Cruise Line offers a lot of excursions on Castaway Cay that you can book before your ship gets to the island. They have glass bottom boat tours, banana boats, parasailing, and more.
Scuttle’s Cove
Skuttle’s Cove is an area of Castaway Cay that is exclusively for children ages 3 to 12 years old who are potty trained. It has sand, a splash area, and a digging area. You can register your children and drop them off here with the counselors.
Teen Hideout
Teen Hideout on Castaway Cay is for teens ages 14 to 17 years old. There’s a beach area and teens can play games here.
