If you’re going on a Disney World vacation with kids, then you’ll want to know about all of the best things for kids to do there. These are some of the really fun things to do in Animal Kingdom with kids. Add them to your bucket list so you don’t forget.
Tusker House Restaurant
Tusker House Restaurant in Animal Kingdom has character dining, which is so much fun for kids. They can meet Mickey Mouse and his friends in safari outfits. Here you can eat Mickey waffles, Simba waffles, and more. Try to make a reservation before you go.
Meet Characters
There are plenty of characters to meet in this park, just like the other Disney parks. You can meet Mickey and Minnie Mouse in safari outfits at Adventure Outpost. Rafiki and Timon from The Lion King are at Conservation Station. Moana is at Character Landing. You can spot Kevin, the big bird from Up walking around the park sometimes. Make sure to check the Discovery River from time to time because characters come down the river on a boat from time to time.
Kilimanjaro Safaris
Kilimanjaro Safaris is one of the few attractions in this park with no height requirement, meaning babies and young kids can go on it. The animals are the most active in the morning, so try to go here first. You can see lions, giraffes, rhinos, elephants, crocodiles, and more on this safari ride.
Wildlife Express Train
The Wildlife Express Train is a train that will take you behind the scenes of the animals at Rafiki’s Planet Watch. This is a 7 minute train ride and is a nice way to relax for a little bit.
Affection Section
Affection Section is a petting zoo where kids can interact with animals. It’s located in Rafiki Planet Watch and you have to take the Wildlife Express Train to get here.
Gorilla Falls Exploration Trail
Gorilla Falls Exploration Trail is a self-guided walking tour where you can see hippos, gorillas, zebras, meerkats, and more. This is a fun activity for kids to get closer to animals.
Na’vi River Journey
Na’vi River Journey is another ride that babies and kids can go on. It’s an Avatar themed water ride that is really pretty and relaxing. See all of the water rides at Disney World here.
Maharajah Jungle Trek
Maharajah Jungle Trek is located in Asia in Animal Kingdom. You can walk around trails to see Asian tigers, gibbons, Komodo dragons, water buffalo, and more.
Festival of the Lion King
Festival of the Lion King is an elaborate show with puppets and the songs from The Lion King movie. It’s a popular show in the Harambe Theatre in Africa in Animal Kingdom.
Finding Nemo: The Big Blue… and Beyond!
