If you’re going to Disney World this October, then you’ll want to know which attractions will be open and which ones will be closed.
There’s nothing worse than getting to the parks and finding out your favorite ride is closed, so plan ahead with this full list of Disney World ride closures for October 2024.
Walt Disney World will close rides sometimes to do refurbishments and maintenance or to get ready for the holidays.
Some rides are closed for a short amount of time while others can be closed for months or even longer depending on what they’re doing to the ride.
Here are the closures you can expect to see in October:
Test Track
Test Track is an attraction in EPCOT. It closed June 17, 2024 for a massive refurbishment.
It will definitely be closed for the entire month of October as it is not even set to open till sometime in 2025.
It is supposed to open with new show scenes that show more technological advancements and show the past, present, and future.
Jungle Cruise
Jungle Cruise is a very popular attraction in Magic Kingdom, one of the four Disney World parks.
This ride is currently closed, but the good news is that it is set to open October 18, 2024. So hopefully your Disney World trip is after that if this is a must-ride attraction for you.
It closed on August 26, 2024, so this shouldn’t be a huge refurbishment considering the length of time it will be closed for.
Fans are hoping that it will come back with its holiday overlay for the Jingle Cruise. It seems unlikely it would have that starting in October, but it also seems strange to close the ride again super soon after to do the holiday overlay.
Blizzard Beach
Blizzard Beach is not an attraction, but a whole Disney World water park. Rather than listing out all the rides in the water park, we’ll just let you know the whole park is currently closed for refurbishment.
It closed on March 17, 2024 and has been undergoing refurbishment ever since.
Don’t worry too much though, because if you want to go to a Disney water park, you can go to Typhoon Lagoon in October, which is the other Disney World water park.
In November it will switch though, Blizzard Beach will reopen and Typhoon Lagoon will close for refurbishment yet again.
