If you love going on rides and attractions on your Disney vacations, then you’ll want to know about these Disney World ride closures for May 2025 if you have a trip planned that month. Thankfully, there are not as many closures in May as other months this year have had.
Astro Orbiter
Astro Orbiter closed earlier this year and it is unknown when it will reopen. It is expected to open in the late summer of 2025. This is a spinning ride in Tomorrowland in Magic Kingdom.
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad closed at the beginning of January 2025. It should be reopening in early 2026. It’s a roller coaster in Frontierland in Magic Kingdom.
Test Track
Test Track is a car attraction in EPCOT. It closed last summer for a lengthy refurbishment. It is still unknown when it will open, but is expected to open later this year, maybe at the end of summer.
Hall Of Presidents
Hall of Presidents is a show attraction in Magic Kingdom. It closed in January and has not reopened yet. There is not a date set for when it will reopen.
Dumbo The Flying Elephant Playground
The playground in the queue for Dumbo the Flying Elephant in Magic Kingdom is currently closed and being worked on. It closed in the spring and does not have a date for when it will be open again.
Blizzard Beach
Blizzard Beach is not just one ride, but a whole water park of water slides and rides. It is closing May 1 through 20th. You can go here all summer from May 21st through September 7th. See the full list of everything closed at Disney World in May 2025.
