If you’re going to Walt Disney World in May 2025, then you’ll need to know about all of these closures before going. This will help you manage expectations and plan your trip better. The closures include rides, restaurants, things at Disney Springs, and parts of the Disney World hotels.
Test Track
Test Track is an attraction in EPCOT. It closed in June of last year and is still closed with no reopening date. It should be opening later in 2025.
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is a roller coaster in Frontierland in Magic Kingdom. It closed in January for refurbishment and is not expected to open until 2026. It it unknown exactly what Disney is doing to the ride, but their website says they are adding some extra magic.
Astro Orbiter
Astro Orbiter is an attraction in Tomorrowland in Magic Kingdom. It closed a few months ago. It does not have an official reopening date, but is expected to open in the late summer. If you’re hoping to go for a spin on this Tomorrowland attraction, you’ll have to head to Disneyland. See all of the Disneyland closures for May 2025 here.
Blizzard Beach
Blizzard Beach is one of the two Disney World water parks. It will be closed May 1st through May 20th. Typhoon Lagoon will be open during those few weeks though. Then Blizzard Beach will be open for summer from May 21 through September 7th.
Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano
Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano is an Italian restaurant in Muppets Courtyard in Hollywood Studios. It is closing May 11, 2025, so May 10th is the last day to eat here.
Hall Of Presidents
Hall of Presidents is in Magic Kingdom. It closed in January for updates and still has no reopening date that has been announced.
Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After
Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After is a new show coming to Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood Studios park. It will be opening on May 27th.
The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure
The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure is a new show in Hollywood Studios. It will be closed for most of May, then it opens on May 27th.
Dumbo The Flying Elephant Playground
The ride Dumbo The Flying Elephant in Magic Kingdom is open, but the playground in the queue of the ride is currently closed. It should be opening sometime this spring, but an exact date is unknown.
Starbucks On The West Side Of Disney Springs
The Starbucks that is on the West side of Disney Springs is currently closed. It closed in March and should be reopening sometime in the middle of summer.
Room Closures At Resorts
The Contemporary Resort at Disney World has some room closures at Bay Lake Tower. There are also room closures at Port Orleans French Quarter hotel.
Pool Closures At Resorts
Some of the Disney World resorts have pool closures currently going on. This includes Stormalong Bay and Shipwreck Pool at Disney’s Yacht Club and Beach Club.
