If you’re going to Disneyland and California Adventure park in May of 2025, then you’ll want to know about all of these closures before you go. Some are ongoing and others are just closed for a few days. You’ll want to plan your vacation around the closures and be prepared for them.
It’s A Small World
It’s A Small World in Fantasyland has been closed since January and will be reopening on May 9th. It was supposed to open on April 25th, but has been pushed back a couple weeks. It will open with the addition of Miguel and Dante from the movie Coco.
Chip ‘n’ Dale’s GADGETcoaster
Chip ‘n’ Dale’s GADGETcoaster is the short roller coaster in Toontown in Disneyland. It is closing on May 19th and does not have a reopening date yet.
Matterhorn Bobsleds
Matterhorn Bobsleds is closing April 28th to undergo refurbishment. It’s located in Fantasyland in Disneyland park.
King Arthur Carrousel
King Arthur Carrousel will be closed very quickly from May 7th through May 8th. It is located in Fantasyland in Disneyland.
Mad Tea Party
Mad Tea Party is a ride in Fantasyland in Disneyland known for causing motion sickness. It will be closed shortly from May 5th to May 6th. This ride will be open all month in Disney World though. See all of the Disney World closures for May 2025 here.
Soarin’
Soarin’ is going to be closed for just a few days. It is closing on April 28th through May 1st. You can go on this ride again on May 2nd.
Anna & Elsa’s Royal Welcome
Anna & Elsa’s Royal Welcome will be closed April 28-May 12th. You can go here again on May 13th. This is in the Animation Building in California Adventure park and it is where you can meet Anna and Elsa from Frozen.
Sorcerer’s Workshop
Sorcerer’s Workshop is closing on April 28th and will reopen on May 13th. It is located in California Adventure and will be getting some maintenance done to it.
Enchanted Tiki Room
The Enchanted Tiki Room is in Adventureland in Disneyland. It is closing on April 28th and does not currently have a reopening date that has been announced.
Pixie Hollow
Pixie Hollow is still closed and does not have a reopening date. This is in Fantasyland in Disneyland and it is where you can meet Tinker Bell and her fairy friends.
Great Moments With Mr. Lincoln
Great Moments With Mr. Lincoln is closed and will be for all of May. It is reopening on July 17th with a new show. The new show will be Walt Disney – A Magical Life.
California Adventure Entrance From The Grand Californian
The theme park entrance to California Adventure park from the Grand Californian Hotel & Spa is currently closed for maintenance. It does not have a reopening date yet, but is expected to open mid-May.
Napa Rose
Napa Rose is closed and will remain closed until sometime this fall. It is a restaurant in the Grand Californian that has the Disney Princess Breakfast Adventure.
Pool Deck At Pixar Place Hotel
The pool deck on the third floor of the Pixar Place Hotel is closed right now for refurbishment. Guests of the hotel can still view fireworks here though.
