These are the Disney rides that have permanently closed in the last five years at the Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World. A lot of them have closed to make room for new lands and attractions while others have closed to be rethemed to new rides.
Splash Mountain Magic Kingdom
Splash Mountain was a log flume attraction in Magic Kingdom park. It opened in October of 1992 and closed permanently in January of 2023. The ride was changed to Tiana’s Bayou Adventure which opened in June of 2024.
Splash Mountain Disneyland
Splash Mountain was also an attraction in Disneyland that opened in 1989 and closed permanently in May of 2023. It also changed to Tiana’s Bayou Adventure and opened in November of 2024.
Red Car Trolley
Red Car Trolley was a classic attraction in California Adventure park. It was open from 2012 to 2020 and again from 2022 until its permanent closure in February 2025. This was closed to make room for the Avengers Campus expansion which includes some new rides.
Liberty Square Riverboat
Liberty Square Riverboat, also know as the Liberty Belle, was a ship that sailed on the Rivers of America in Frontierland in Magic Kingdom. It permanently closed on July 7, 2025.
It’s Tough to be a Bug
It’s Tough to be a Bug was A Bugs Life themed attraction in Animal Kingdom. It opened on April 22, 1998 and closed for good on March 16, 2025. It is going to be replaced with a new show called Zootopia: Better Zoogether!
Muppet*Vision 3D
Muppet*Vision 3D was an attraction in Muppets Courtyard in Hollywood Studios park. It opened decades ago in 1991 and closed permanently on June 7, 2025 with the rest of Muppets Courtyard. This area is changing to be a Monsters, Inc. Land. Read about the new rides coming here.
TriceraTop Spin
TericeraTop Spin was a fun ride in DinoLand USA in Animal Kingdom park. It opened on November 18, 2001 and closed permanently on January 12, 2025. The rest of DinoLand USA is permanently closing in early 2026. This is to make room for the new Tropical Americas land.
Primeval Whirl
Primeval Whirl was a mouse trap style roller coaster that was in DinoLand USA in Animal Kingdom park. It was open from March 31, 2002 to March 13, 2020. Read about more Disney World rides that permanently closed here.
