If you’re planning a trip to Disneyland or Disney World, you’ll want to make sure you pack all of the necessities for yourself and your family.
There are some items that are easy to forget, but I’ve got you covered with this Disney packing list!
I won’t cover the obvious things packing lists need like toiletries, socks, diapers for your baby, etc.
I’ll remind you to bring the not so obvious items with this ultimate Disney packing list that will make your trip much easier and help you avoid buying things while in the park that you could have brought with you from home.
The items from this packing list are mainly for Disneyland or a Disney World vacation, but you’ll also want a lot of these items for a Disney Cruise Line vacation, a water park, or road trips.

#1 Disney Packing List Item – Portable Phone Charger
I would be devastated if my phone died in a Disney Park since it doubles as my camera and that would mean I couldn’t take anymore pictures that day.
You’ll want to bring an external battery charger with you to avoid this, especially if your phone doesn’t hold a charge very well.
Just make sure that you charge the portable charger in your hotel room before heading to the park.
2. Poncho
It can rain frequently, especially in Walt Disney World. Buying a poncho in the park is expensive and can be avoided so easily.
It’s important to bring a small one with you so that you’re ready when the rain comes and you don’t have to rush to buy some for your family.
3. Snacks
I love Disney’s snacks in the park and definitely buy them. It’s nice to have some snacks in your day bag with you in case you’re hungry while in line for a ride, especially if you have little kids.
You’ll also be glad you have snacks your kids love if they’re having a hard time finding something they like on a restaurant menu in the Disney parks.
You can use snack containers instead of zip-lock bags to make sure things like crackers and berries don’t get squished in your bag.
4. Water Bottle
Bring a refillable water bottle with you that you can refill in the park instead of buying water all day long. I prefer insulated water bottles since they keep your water colder.
5. Small First Aid Kit
A small first aid kit is good to keep with you in case someone you’re with gets a blister or cut.
You don’t want to be hunting down band-aids in this type of situation, you’ll be glad you already have them on you.
6. Comfortable Walking Shoes
To hopefully avoid blisters and sore feet, you absolutely have to wear comfortable shoes since you’ll be on your feet and walking a ton.
I’ve worn uncomfortable shoes to Disneyland too many times and refuse to make that mistake again.
7. Backpack
You’ll need some sort of park bag to carry all of your essential items in.
I suggest using a backpack instead of purse because they’re easier and more comfortable to carry around.

8. Mickey Or Minnie Mouse Ears
Mickey ears or Minnie ears are not necessary, but they’re a lot of fun to wear!
You can get them cheaper from Amazon or Etsy than you can in the park, so I recommend buying them ahead of time and bringing them with you.
If you’re looking for outfits to wear and ways to style your Mickey ears, check out this post with Disney outfit ideas from my fashion blog!
Mickey ears are fun to wear on any Disney vacation, but they’re super fun to wear in Disneyland and the Magic Kingdom.
So make sure to add them to your Disney World packing list.
9. Sweatshirt
It can get cold at night in the parks, so you’ll be glad you have a sweatshirt with you.
If you’re already wanting to get a new sweatshirt while on your Disney trip, then you can totally buy one in the gift shop instead of bringing one with you.
10. Disney Credit Card
Don’t forget to bring your Disney credit card with you. There are perks and savings you get from it while in the Disney theme parks that you don’t want to miss out on.
11. Disney Toys
It’s a fun idea to bring some new Disney toys for your kids with you.
This way you don’t have to pay gift shop prices and you can get them out when your kids are struggling and really need them.
12. Handheld Fan
If the weather is going to be hot for your park visit, consider bringing a handheld fan to cool off with. This is something that is great to bring if you have little kids.
13. Hand Sanitizer
Bringing hand sanitizer will help you keep the germs away after touching all the railings and rides. A small travel-sized one is perfect for a day at Disney.
14. Sunscreen
Check the weather before your trip because if it’s going to be sunny, then sunscreen will be a good item to have on hand.
You don’t want to get sunburnt and have to deal with that for the rest of your trip.
15. Magic Band
A Magic Band is a Disney wristband that you can use as a room key, your park ticket, and payment to buy food and things in the parks.
This is nice because then you don’t have to keep track of so many different things since it’s all loaded onto your Magic Band.
There are a lot of different color options for these that are fun. This is a really cool item to add to your Disney packing list!
16. Tide To Go Pen
If you tend to spill food frequently or have little kids with you, then consider bringing a Tide to go pen to keep your clothes clean.
