Walt Disney World has been doing a lot of refurbishments on their rides and other attractions this year. These are all of the closures at Disney World in April 2025. It’s good to know what they are before your vacation so you can plan around them and don’t get too excited to experience something that will be closed.
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad

The most notable of current closures is Big Thunder Mountain Railroad in Frontierland in Magic Kingdom. It’s been closed since January and they are planning to have it closed at least the rest of this year while they make updates and add some extra magic to the ride.
Hall Of Presidents

Hall of Presidents in Magic Kingdom closed in January 2025 for some updates. It does not have a reopening date yet.
Astro Orbiter

Astro Orbiter closed in early 2025 for maintenance. It should be reopening sometime this summer, probably towards the end of it. If you want to go on this ride, you’ll have to go to Disneyland for now since it’s open there. See the full list of Disneyland closures for April 2025 here.
Typhoon Lagoon

The Disney World water park Typhoon Lagoon has been closed since November 2024, but it finally has a reopening date. It will open again on May 1st.
Test Track

Test Track closed last June for a huge refurbishment. It is still not open, but is expected to open later this year.
It’s Tough To Be A Bug

It’s Tough To Be A Bug in Animal Kingdom closed permanently on March 17th, so April will be the first full month of it being closed.
The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure

A new show in Hollywood Studios called The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure will be opening in the summer of 2025. The show Voyage of the Little Mermaid closed to make room for this.
Resort Pool Closures

Pool closures at the Disney World resorts includes Stormalong Bay at Disney’s Yacht Club and Fantasia Pool at Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort.
Resort Room Closures

There are also some room closures at Port Orleans French Quarter and Bay Lake Tower at the Contemporary Resort.
Dumbo The Flying Elephant Playground

The playground at the queue of Dumbo The Flying Elephant is currently closed. It is expected to open sometime this spring, but an exact date is unknown.
