Disney California Adventure is the second theme park that is part of The Disneyland Resort. It is right across from Disneyland park. California Adventure opened on February 8, 2001. This theme park has changed so much since it opened with a lot of closures, new additions, and rides getting redone to have new themes. These are the California Adventure opening day attractions that are still there.
Golden Zephyr

Golden Zephyr was there the day California Adventure park opened and it’s still there today. Unfortunately, this ride often closes due to wind and it definitely closes when it rains.
Grizzly River Run

Grizzly River Run is a river rapids style ride that was made to resemble the mountains and rivers in Northern California. It has been there since the beginning of this theme park.
Jumpin’ Jellyfish

Soarin’

Soarin’ is such a classic ride in Grizzly Peak in California Adventure. There are two versions of the ride that they alternate between. They are Soarin’ Over California and Soarin’ Over The World. When the ride first opened it was always Soarin’ Over California. Now it’s Soarin’ Over The World for most of the year, then it changes to Soarin’ Over California for the Food & Wine Festival.
Redwood Creek Challenge Trail

Redwood Creek Challenge Trail is an area of Grizzly Peak for kids. They can run around, do ropes courses, slides, rock climbing walls, and more. This is such a fun thing to do in California Adventure that’s not a ride. See more things to do at Disneyland that are not rides here.
Animation Academy

Animation Academy is in the Animation Building in Hollywood Land in California Adventure park. It’s been there since the beginning of this theme park. This is where you can take a free drawing lesson from an animator. See more free things you can get at Disneyland here.
