18 Free Things You Can Get At Disneyland

Published by Elizabeth Morgan on November 18, 2024

There are actually quite a few free things you can get at Disneyland! You’ll need a park ticket to experience most of them, but once you’re in Disneyland and California Adventure, these are included for you.

Celebration Buttons

You can get free celebration buttons for your birthday, anniversary, honeymoon, or anything else you’re there to celebrate. They are available at Guest Services, City Hall, Guest Relations, and more places.

First Aid Items

If you’re in need of First Aid items, they are available to you for free. You can get medicine, band aids, and ice. A cast member will ask you what you need and why, then you’ll sign a paper and they’ll give it to you. Disneyland’s First Aid is at the end of Main Street next to the Baby Care Center. California Adventure’s is on Buena Vista Street by Chamber of Commerce.

Pixie Dusting

Pixie Dusting is where a Disney Cast Member will sprinkle glitter on you or your child with a wand. You can ask for this at Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique in Fantasyland. Be warned though, glitter will be everywhere!

Replacements

After you purchase things at Disneyland, keep your receipts till your trip is over. You might be able to get a replacement product if needed, but this is not guaranteed. You can try to get a replacement if you spill your popcorn, pop your balloon, or if your child’s new toy breaks.

Buddy Passes

Buddy passes are available for 1-2 people to skip the line of the Monster’s Inc ride or the Winnie The Pooh ride. This is so they can fill the extra rows on the ride. Ask a Cast Member at the entrance of the ride for a buddy pass.

Buffets For Babies

Kids ages 2 and under are free at buffets and can still eat all they want. This is available at Napa Rose, Storytellers Cafe, Goofy’s Kitchen, and Plaza Inn. You’ll want to put them on your reservation when you make it, but won’t be charged for them after you eat.

Wake Up Call From A Character

Guests staying at Disneyland hotels can request to have a wake up call in the morning from a Disney character. You cannot choose which character calls though.

Drawing Lessons

In California Adventure you can go to Animation Academy and do a free drawing lesson. This is a 30 minute class where you’ll be instructed on how to draw a specific Disney character. You can request coloring pages for little ones if they aren’t ready to draw.

Water

Quick service restaurants offer free cups of water. Drinking this water instead of buying water bottles can save a ton of money on your trip.

Stickers

A lot of Cast Members have stickers they’ll hand out to kids. You can also ask for them if you want. They are usually Mickey Mouse.

Safari Sacks At Jungle Cruise

Safari Sacks are a special zip-loc bag you can get before going on the Jungle Cruise ride. You can use them to put your phone or other belongings in to ensure they don’t get wet while you’re riding the attraction.

Jungle Cruise Map

If you want a map of the Jungle Cruise, ask your Skipper (the cast member on your boat) for one. This is a fun and free souvenir.

Driver’s License

When waiting in line for the Autopia ride you can get a free driver’s license. You can fill it out and add your picture to it.

Live Entertainment At Downtown Disney

Downtown Disney is a free area to access and they often have live music and entertainment that you can listen to.

You have to pay for most ride photos, but the one taken on Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters is free. Look at the ride photo screens when you exit the ride and enter your email address to receive your photo.

Fireworks

Disneyland firework shows are included with your park ticket. They have some amazing fireworks that are definitely worth watching.

Early Entry

Early entry is free to guests staying at the Disneyland hotels. This is where you can enter the theme parks before other people. It’s a great time to get some rides in before the parks get busy.

Package Check

Package check is available to guests at the Disneyland hotels. You can leave your souvenirs and purchases with a worker and they’ll deliver them to your room for free. This is a nice service to tip for though.
