These are the closures at Disneyland in August 2025 that you can expect to see. These are always subject to change and more can be added at anytime. It’s good to know about the closures so you can better plan your vacation.
Haunted Mansion
Haunted Mansion in Disneyland will close on August 9th to change to Haunted Mansion Holiday for the rest of the year. This is where it gets a Nightmare Before Christmas overlay. Haunted Mansion Holiday will open on August 22nd when the Halloween season starts at Disneyland.
Radiator Springs Racers
Radiator Springs Racers is the main attraction in Cars Land in California Adventure park. It is going to close on August 18th for some maintenance. It does not currently have a reopening date, but is expected to be closed for about 2 months.
Redwood Creek Challenge Trail
Redwood Creek Challenge Trail is a fun area for kids to explore in California Adventure park. It will be closed for maintenance from July 21st through August 14th.
Star Tours – The Adventure Continues
Star Tours – The Adventure Continues is a Star Wars themed attraction in Tomorrowland in Disneyland park. It closed on June 30th for some refurbishments and a reopening date has not yet been announced. This ride is still open at Disney World though. See a list of Disney World closures in August here.
Storybook Land Canal Boats
Storybook Land Canal Boats is going to close on July 21st and it does not have a reopening date as of right now. It is unknown what exactly they are doing to this classic Fantasyland attraction.
Casey Jr. Circus Train
Casey Jr. Circus Train is a cute and fun ride in Fantasyland that takes you around the same area as Storybook Land Canal Boats. It is going to be closing on July 28th and it is unknown when the attraction will reopen.
Incredicoaster
Incredicoaster is an Incredibles themed roller coaster in Pixar Pier in California Adventure park that is very popular. It is going to close on July 28th for refurbishment. The reopening date is August 15th.
Walkway Between Cars Land and Avengers Campus
The walkway that connects Cars Land and Avengers Campus is closed right now and it is unknown when it will reopen. This closure comes as part of the Avengers Campus expansion where they are adding new rides. Read about the new rides coming here.
Napa Rose
Napa Rose is a restaurant inside of the Grand Californian Hotel & Spa. It is currently closed and is expected to reopen in the fall.
Better Together: A Pixar Pals Celebration!
Better Together: A Pixar Pals Celebration! is a parade in California Adventure park. It came this summer as part of the 70th Celebration and will stop running in August temporarily for the Halloween season. August 3rd is the last day with parade times for now.
Disney Jr. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live!
Disney Jr. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live! is a show for little ones in the Disney Theater in California Adventure park. It is temporarily closing to make room for the show Mickey’s Trick and Treat. August 16th is the last day with showtimes as of right now.
Upcoming Closures
There are some closures coming after August that are good to know about too. Monsters, Inc. Mike & Sulley to the Rescue will be permanently closing in early 2026 to make room for an Avatar themed land. Also, It’s A Small World usually closes in October to change it to It’s A Small World Holiday.
