Walt Disney’s 7 Favorite Rides At Disneyland

These were all of Walt Disney’s favorite rides at Disneyland. He came up with the idea for this theme park and brought it to life. It opened in 1955 and he was able to experience it until his death in 1966. The rides at the park have changed so much since then, but these ones are still there today.

King Arthur Carrousel

Walt Disney would often go for a spin on King Arthur Carrousel when he was in Disneyland. This was the attraction that kind of started it all since he was inspired to create Disneyland when he saw his daughters on a merry-go-round. This carrousel was built well before Disneyland and he purchased it to put it in the park.

Main Street Vehicles

Walt Disney loved the nostalgia of the Main Street Vehicles, especially the horse-drawn carriage one. It reminded him of his childhood.

Jungle Cruise

Jungle Cruise was one of the opening day attractions at Disneyland when the park first opened on July 17, 1955. Walt enjoyed how this ride was immersive and adventurous.

The Disneyland Railroad

Walt Disney was always a big train enthusiast, so it’s not surprising that he wanted Disneyland to have a railroad. He oversaw this project and loved the attraction.

Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room

Walt Disney loved the Enchanted Tiki Room so much that he put his name in the title of it. He loved the intricacies of this show and was very proud of it having audio-animatronic technology. He was very involved in creating this attraction.

Pirates of the Caribbean

Pirates of the Caribbean was the last attraction that Walt Disney worked on before his death. It opened soon after he died, but he couldn’t get enough of the storytelling on this ride and how immersive it felt. Walt’s current favorite ride was often the one he was working on. Mark Twain Riverboat

The Mark Twain Riverboat sails on the Rivers of America in Frontierland in Disneyland. It is said that Walt Disney would take a ride on this boat when he was in a bad mood.
