If you’re going to Disney World this fall, then these are all of the important things you’ll want to know when planning your trip. This includes events, holidays, closures, and more.
Halloween Season
The Halloween season at Walt Disney World starts on August 15th and ends on October 31st. This is when you can expect to see Halloween decor, treats, and so much more in the Disney World parks.
Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party
Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is an after hours event in Magic Kingdom. You need a separate ticket to attend this event, otherwise you will have to leave the park when it closes early on event nights. The Halloween party is on select nights from August 15th through October 31st. There will be a special parade, firework show, and more.
EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival Starts
EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival starts on August 28th and ends on November 22nd. This is a long festival. There will be special concerts, food items, and more during this time.
Halloween
Halloween day is on Friday October 31st. This will be the last day to experience all of the Halloween offerings at Disney World.
Thanksgiving
Thanksgiving is on Thursday November 27, 2025. The Christmas season will be underway by then, but you can still expect to get Thanksgiving menu items at certain restaurants. There will be increased crowds on Thanksgiving week because many people have the holiday off from school and work.
Ride Closures
Rise closures that we know of so far for this fall include Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Spaceship Earth, and Jungle Cruise will close briefly to get its holiday overlay. Read more about these Disney World closures here.
Other Closures
Other closures that are not rides are The Boneyard in Animal Kingdom permanently closing on September 2nd and the waterpark Blizzard Beach will close on September 8th for maintenance.
The Boneyard is Permanently Closing
The Boneyard is a kids play area in Animal Kingdom park. It is going to permanently close on September 2nd. DinoLand USA is all closing soon and this area will become a Tropical Americas land that will feature an Encanto ride and an Indiana Jones ride. Read about the new rides coming here.
Christmas Starts
The Christmas season at Disney World starts on November 14, 2025 and it will go until December 31st. Decorations will start going up in the parks before that, but they will be completed by November 14th.
Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party
Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is an after hours event in Magic Kingdom on select nights starting November 7th. The Christmas party will have a special holiday firework show, a Christmas parade, special characters, holiday foods, and more.
Jollywood Nights
Jollywood Nights is on select nights from November 8th until December 22nd. This Christmas event is in Hollywood Studios park. There will be exclusive entertainment, food items, and more.
EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays Starts
EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays will start on November 28, 2025 and end on December 30th. There will be candlelight processionals, festive food, meet n greets with Santa Claus, Christmas entertainment, and more.
Free Water Park Admission for Resort Guests
If you’re staying at a Disney World Resort hotel in 2025, you can go to a Disney waterpark for free on the day of checkin. The waterparks are Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach. They are not always both open at the same time though.
The Last Fall For DinoLand USA
Fall of 2025 is the last fall that you can experience DinoLand USA in Animal Kingdom park. This area is all permanently closing in early 2026. This includes the ride DINOSAUR, the restaurants, and everything that is there.
