Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party

Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party will be in Magic Kingdom on October 2, 3, 5, 7, 9, 10, 13, 14, 16, 17, 19, 23, 24, 26, 28, 30 and 31. You must have a ticket to attend the event. Magic Kingdom will close early on those nights for general admission guests.
Halloween Season

October is your last chance to experience the Halloween season at Disney World. It ends on October 31st, so go see the decor, buy the merch, and eat the treats by then.
Halloween Day

Halloween is Friday October 31st. This is also the last day of the Halloween season. Magic Kingdom will be hosting Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party this night. Adults can only wear costumes to the park if attending the event.
EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival

The EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival will be going for all of October. This festival ends on November 22nd. There are special festival foods, events, and more to experience.
Eat To The Beat Concerts

The EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival also features the Eat to the Beat Concert Series. There are different performers each day at America Gardens Theatre with showtimes being 5:30pm, 6:45pm, and 8pm.
Fall Break

Some schools in the United States have fall break for a few days or a week. This can be anytime in October.
Crowds

Crowds are typically higher in October than in August and September. This is because of fall break and because people want to experience Halloween time at Disney World in October.
Weather

October is part of hurricane season in Florida, so that could possibly impact your vacation. The weather is still warm during October and there are increased chances of rain. Dress for the heat and pack a poncho for when it rains.
Disney Starlight Parade

Magic Kingdom got a new parade over the summer called Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away. This is a nighttime parade with floats from Frozen, Moana, Peter Pan, and more. This parade will run on select nights in October.
Star Wars Launch Bay is Closing Permanently

Star Wars Launch Bay is a Star Wars area in Hollywood Studios. This is closing permanently on September 25th. Star Wars fans will have to get all their Star Wars fun in at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge now.
Ride Closures

Ride closures for the month of October include Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Spaceship Earth, Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin, Kalie River Rapids, and the Frontierland station of the Walt Disney World Railroad. Read dates and more info on the closures here.
Other Closures

Other closures include Animation Courtyard closing at the end of September for a big rehaul, Disney Jr. Play and Dance show in Hollywood Studios, and Blizzard Beach water park. Typhoon Lagoon water park remains open though.
Resort Guests Get Free Water Park Admission

Guests who are staying at Walt Disney World Resort hotels can go to Typhoon Lagoon water park for free on the day they check into their hotel.
Last Chance for Permanently Closing Attractions

There are some permanent closures coming up in 2026, so if this is your last trip until then, then this is your last chance to experience these attractions. All of DinoLand USA is closing in February 2026. Rock n Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith is closing in 2026 to change to Muppets theme. Read about all of the new rides coming to Disney World here.
