Welcome Foolish Mortals! The Haunted Mansion is one of the most iconic Disney attractions ever. It’s one of my favorite rides and is so fun to ride.
You can find this ride in Disneyland, Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World, and Tokyo Disneyland. The ride is a little different in each location, but it’s pretty similar.
There is also a version of the ride at Disneyland Paris, but that one is called Phantom Manor. Fancy, right?
Well, this ride is one of the best to ride, but here are some things that people need to stop doing to not ruin the ride experience for other people.
1. Don’t Recite The Script
If you aren’t the Ghost Host, then you don’t need to be reciting the script in the stretching room. It’s a really memorable script that is fun to quote, but this is not the time.
I’ve been on the ride before when other people were saying the lines very loudly and this ruins the experience because we’re there to hear the Ghost Host, not other people.
These people think it makes them sound cool for having some of the script memorized, but no one is impressed, they’ll just be annoyed.
This is especially for people who do not come to Disney often and have not been on the ride before.
2. Do Not Spread Ashes
This should be an obvious one, but this is actually a problem that Disney experiences more than they should.
People love to spread their loved ones ashes at Disney parks, more specifically in the Haunted Mansion.
It is called Code A when people do this. The ride will close and cast members have to go into the ride and find the ashes to clean up.
The ashes won’t end up staying in the Haunted Mansion anyway, so it’s best to find something else to do with them.
3. No Flash Photography
You can totally take pictures and even videos inside of the Haunted Mansion ride, but do not use your flash. This will be very bright and upset the other guests.
Also, because of how dark the ride is and since it’s moving, your pictures will most likely be blurry anyway.
Videos definitely turn out better on this ride.
4. Do Not Pull The Safety Bar Down
The safety bar will come down on it’s own when it’s ready, so you do not need to worry about pulling it down.
If you listen to the Ghost Host, he’ll explain that it’s his job to do this.
5. Stay In Your Doom Buggy
You must keep your hands and feet inside your Doom Buggy (aka ride vehicle) at all times.
This ride frequently stops because of how they do the boarding process. It can be hard to get into your vehicle in time and some guests need extra time to board the ride.
When the ride stops it can be tempting to reach out and try to touch things on the ride, but this would be very dangerous if the ride started up again.
So do not get the ride shut down for other people because of what you did.
