If you’re heading to Disney World in December, then you’ll first want to know about these ride closures.
This will help you manage expectations and know what’s going on with the rides. Hopefully your favorite ride isn’t going to be closed.
Here are the ride closures you can expect to see in December:
Test Track
Test Track, an EPCOT ride, is currently closed and has been since June 17, 2024. It is currently undergoing a big refurbishment.
It is not supposed to open until sometime in 2025, but no date has been announced yet. It will definitely remain closed for the month of December.
It is going to open with new show scenes that show more technological advancements and show the past, present, and future.
Typhoon Lagoon
Typhoon Lagoon was open for most of the year, but closed on November 4th, the day Blizzard Beach opened.
Don’t worry too much about this water park closure, because if you want to go to a Disney water park, you can go to Blizzard Beach, which is the other Disney World water park.
Upcoming Closures in 2025
There aren’t many closures for December 2024, but unfortunately more closures are coming in 2025 that we already know about.
The Magic Kingdom ride Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is closing January 6, 2025 for a year.
The other upcoming closure is a whole land, DinoLand, which is closing January 13, 2025.
This means that TriceraTop Spin, Fossil Fun Games, and Chester & Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures are all permanently closing.
