Whether you’re curious or trying to decide if you want to go on certain rides, you may be wanting to know some of the Disneyland ride speeds. In this post I’m going to tell you what all of the fastest rides at Disneyland are.
These attractions are sure to give every adrenaline junkie the exhilarating thrill ride experience they’re longing for.
You may be surprised at what some of the fastest rides are and which ones come in last place. I know I was shocked to see one of my favorite rides towards the bottom of the list!
I was even more surprised that Indiana Jones Adventure wasn’t in the top 9 fastest rides.
The rides I’ve included are all of them at the Disneyland Resort, so Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park.

1. Incredicoaster
Top Speed: 55 mph

If you’ve ever seen this ride take off or been on it, then you know it’s super fast. You’ve probably even wondered how fast is the Incredicoaster at Disneyland. Can you believe it’s 55 mph? So fast!
It actually reaches it’s top speed in 4 seconds.
This is the fastest ride at Disneyland. Since it’s a roller coaster that also makes it the fastest roller coaster in Disneyland.
This attraction used to be called California Screamin’, which opened in 2001. It was redone later on to be the Incredicoaster with the Disney movie The Incredibles as the theme.
I love the Incredibles theme for the fastest Disneyland ride since the Parr family in the movies are superheroes who are super fast.

2. Radiator Springs Racers
Top Speed: 40 mph

You must be wanting to know how fast does Radiator Springs Racers go? The answer is 40 mph! No wonder my stomach turns upside down for part of the ride!
In my opinion, this is one of the best rides at Disneyland Resort and easily the best ride in California Adventure Park. I absolutely love it and can’t wait to ride it with my kids when they’re tall enough!
You get in a 6 seater car and go through Radiator Springs from the Pixar movie Cars.
You’ll see all the cutest characters from the movie including Lightning McQueen, Mater, Sally, Doc Hudson, Sally, Mack, and more.
Your car will get a makeover, then zip around and reach top speed while racing another car.
This ride is known for its long wait times. To avoid this you can either do the single rider line or purchase Individual Lightning Lane.
3. Splash Mountain

Land: Critter Country

This is a cute log flume water ride. The whole ride does not go fast, just the part where you’re dropping from 5 stories up.
This ride is going to be closing soon and changing to Tiana’s Bayou Adventure from The Princess And The Frog.
It looks like it will be a very similar ride and still have the big drop, so we’re guessing it will still go 40 mph.
4. Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT!

This is one of the newer rides at California Adventure and Avengers Campus. It used to be Tower Of Terror, but was rethemed to Guardians Of The Galaxy.
This ride is so high energy and thrilling! It goes super fast as it pulls you up and pushes you down in an elevator.
This is not a typical fast ride as it is not a roller coaster, but it really is fast and you definitely feel it. They play fun music that really sets a fun vibe.
5. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad

Opening Year: 1979
This is a really fun thrill ride. You’ll board a mine train and go through a haunted gold mine. You’ll go fast through the gold mine looking for gold.
It has twist, turns, and big drops. It’s a big rickety, but it’s so much fun that it shouldn’t bother you.
This and the next ride are the fastest roller coasters in Disneyland park.
6. Space Mountain

Opening Year: 1977
If you’re been wanting to know how fast is Space Mountain at Disneyland, the answer is 35 miles per hour.
On this ride you’ll get in a rocket and go through the galaxy on a roller coaster in complete darkness.
It’s trippy not being able to see anything because you don’t know what to expect.
Walt Disney Company definitely made this ride feel faster than it is!
This ride is also in Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World, but it’s a little different. The ride vehicles are different and it also goes faster in Disneyland. It goes 27 mph in Disney World.
To many people, this is the best ride at Disneyland. This can cause long lines, so it’s a good ride to rope drop.
I really love this ride and get such a rush from it! You just can’t beat the thrill rides.
7. Goofy’s Sky School
Top Speed: 27 mph

Land: Paradise Gardens Park
Height Requirement: 42″

Opening Year: 2011
This ride originally opened in 2001 and was called Mulholland Madness. It was later changed to Goofy’s Sky School.
It is a wild mouse roller coaster that is based on the short Goofy’s Glider from 1940.
It has very sharp turns that feel really fast.
8. Matterhorn Bobsleds
Top Speed: 27 mph
Theme Park: Disneyland
Land: Fasntasyland
Height Requirement: 42″

If you’ve been wondering how fast is Matterhorn at Disneyland, it’s 27 mph. That’s faster than I remember!
This is one of the oldest rides at Disneyland! It is one of a kind since Disneyland is the only Disney park that has this ride.
It was the first ride that was roller coaster in Disneyland. You board a toboggan style bobsled and take a journey through the mountain to see the Abominable Snowman.
It looks like the Matterhorn mountain in the Swiss Alps in Switzerland.
This ride may not be the fastest in Disneyland, but it is very bumpy and jerky. I find it so uncomfortable that this is one of the Disneyland rides that I don’t go on.
9. Chip ‘n’ Dale’s GADGETcoaster
Top Speed: 22 mph

Land: Mickey’s Toontown

Opening Year: 2023
This ride is fast for a junior roller coaster. It originally opened in 1993 as Gadget’s Go Coaster.
It’s a speedy little coaster with twists, turns, and small drops. It is based on the movie Chip ‘n’ Dale Rescue Rangers.
Each row can hold 2 guests. It was designed for one adult and one child to sit together.

The fastest Disney ride is Test Track located in EPCOT in Walt Disney World. It goes 65 mph at the fastest part!
Guardians of the Galaxy – Cosmic Rewind is not the fastest Disney ride, but it is the fastest roller coaster ride. It goes 60 mph.
The fastest roller coaster in California is SUPERMAN: Escape From Krypton at Six Flags Magic Mountain. It reaches 100 mph!
