13 Disneyland Rides To Avoid When It’s Hot Outside

Disneyland can get pretty hot in the summer, so it’s important to stay cool on the hot days. These are the Disneyland rides to avoid when it’s hot outside. Instead of going on these, opt for indoor rides with air conditioning so you do not overheat.

Dumbo The Flying Elephant

Dumbo the Flying Elephant is an outdoor ride in Fantasyland in Disneyland. The ride is not covered, but the queue for it is. It can be pretty hot in the afternoon of a hot day.

Goofy’s Sky School

Goofy’s Sky School is an outdoor roller coaster in California Adventure park. When you’re at the top of the ride, the sun feels intense.

Autopia

Autopia is a car attraction in Tomorrowland in Disneyland. It’s outdoors and in full sun. It feels very hot when you’re on it on a sunny day.

Chip ‘n’ Dale’s GadgetCOASTER is an outdoor roller coaster in Mickey’s Toontown. The queue is also outside.

Storybook Land Canal Boats

Storybook Land Canal Boats is a classic ride in Fantasyland in Disneyland. It’s outdoors and so is the queue for it. There is next to no shade on this ride.

Astro Orbitor

Astro Orbitor is a spinning ride in Tomorrowland in Disneyland. It is outdoors and uncovered, making it a hot ride to go on.

Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind

Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind is located on Pixar Pier in California Adventure. The queue is in the sun and the ride is outdoors. The ride vehicles are covered, but it still makes for a hot ride.

Golden Zephyr

Golden Zephyr is another spinning ride in California Adventure park. It’s outdoors and hot to go on in the afternoon in the summer.

Casey Jr. Circus Train

You don’t have to completely avoid Casey Jr. Circus Train when it’s hot out, but try to ride it when there is not a long line. The line is in full sun and is very hot. Once you’re on the ride you can try to get a covered ride vehicle and the movement of the ride makes a nice breeze.

Jungle Cruise

Jungle Cruise is located in Adventureland in Disneyland. The queue is outdoors, but a lot of it is covered. The boats you ride in are covered, but with it being a slow moving ride it still feels very hot.

Luigi’s Rollickin’ Roadsters

Luigi’s Rollickin’ Roadsters is in Cars Land in California Adventure park. The queue is partially indoors, but the actual ride is outside in the full sun.

Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree

Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree is another outdoor ride in Cars Land in California Adventure park. There is no shade and the sun feels intense when you’re on it.

Mad Tea Party

Mad Tea Party is an outdoor ride in Fantasyland in Disneyland. It’s not the worst ride to go on when it’s hot out since there is a lot of shade, but it can still feel pretty hot since it’s outside.
