These are the California Adventure and Disneyland rides that change for different seasons of the year, like holidays. It’s fun to go on the classic versions of these rides, but the changes are fun too and make for a different experience.
Hyperspace Mountain
Hyperspace Mountain is what Space Mountain changes into from about the end of March till mid-May for Season of the Force. This is where Space Mountain in Tomorrowland gets a Star Wars themed spin to it. It has Star Wars music and projections on it.
Mater’s Junkyard JamBOOree
Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree is an attraction in Cars Land in California Adventure park. It gets an overlay for the Halloween season where it becomes Mater’s Junkyard JamBOOREE. It gets cobwebs, purple lights, and Halloween music.
Luigi’s Honkin’s Haul-O-Ween
Luigi’s Rollickin’ Roadsters is a cute and lively attraction in Cars Land. For the Halloween season it changes to Luigi’s Honkin’s Haul-O-Ween. It has Halloween decor and music.
Guardians of the Galaxy – Monsters After Dark
Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! is a thrilling drop ride in Avengers Campus in California Adventure. At night during the Halloween season it changes to Guardians of the Galaxy – Monsters After Dark. It has a different Halloween themed storyline, Halloween music, and different lights outside on the building.
Haunted Mansion Holiday
Haunted Mansion in Disneyland becomes Haunted Mansion Holiday where it has a Nightmare Bedsore Christmas overlay. This usually goes from mid-August to early January. It stays up for Halloween season and Christmas season. This is the only Haunted Mansion in a Disney park that gets this overlay, so it’s really special.
It’s A Small World Holiday
It’s A Small World in Fantasyland gets the cutest, festive overlay for the Christmas season where it becomes It’s A Small World Holiday. There are Christmas lights and decorations everywhere on the ride and fun Christmas music plays. This usually goes from mid-November until mid-January.
Mater’s Jingle Jamboree
Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree changes to Mater’s Jingle Jamboree for the Christmas season. This ride is in Cars Land in California Adventure. It has some holiday decor and a special Christmas song sung by Larry the Cable Guy who voices Mater in the Cars movies.
Luigi’s Joy to the Whirl
Luigi’s Rollickin’ Roadsters also changes for the Christmas season and becomes Luigi’s Joy to the Whirl. It has some Christmas decorations and Luigi sings a version of Jingle Bells.
