These are all of the Disney World ride closures for the last half of 2025 that have been announced so far. More rides can always be added to the list and the dates are subject to change. Knowing about these closures if you have an upcoming Disney World trip before the end of this year.
Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin
Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin is a fun and interactive attraction in Tomorrowland in Magic Kingdom. It is going to close on August 4, 2025. It does not have a reopening date yet, but is expected to open sometime in 2026. It is getting new ride vehicles, new blasters, and more.
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is a popular roller coaster in Frontierland in Magic Kingdom. It, unfortunately, will be closed for the rest of 2025. It closed in January for some big refurbishments and should open in early 2026.
Spaceship Earth
Spaceship Earth in EPCOT needs some updates, so it will be closing on August 25th and is expected to reopen later in 2025.
Test Track
Test Track is a unique and modern car attraction in EPCOT park. It has been closed for more than a year for a major refurbishment. It is going to reopen on July 22nd though.
Under the Sea – Journey of the Little Mermaid
Under the Sea – Journey of the Little Mermaid is a slow-moving dark ride that is located in Fantasyland in Magic Kingdom park. It will be closed from July 21st through July 25th.
Jungle Cruise
The Jungle Cruise will likely close in mid-October or in early November so the ride can transform into the Jingle Cruise with its holiday overlay for the Christmas season. It will need to close again in January to go back to the normal Jungle Cruise attraction.
Liberty Square Riverboat
Liberty Square Riverboat was a ship on the Rivers of America in Magic Kingdom. This whole area closed permanently on July 7, 2025. This is where the new Pixar Cars land called Piston Peak will be.
Blizzard Beach
Blizzard Beach is not just one ride, but a whole water park of them. It is open for the summer, then will close on September 8th for maintenance. See the full list of closures at Disney World for the rest of 2025 here.
2026 Closures
Looking ahead to 2026, there are some closures we already know about. DINOSAUR in Animal Kingdom will be permanently closing in early 2026. Kali River Rapids usually closes in the winter for seasonal maintenance. Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith will close in 2026 and reopen sometime that year with a new Muppets theme on the ride. Read about the new rides coming to Disney parks here.
