These are the closures at Disney World to know about in May 2026. It’s good to know about them before your trip.
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad has been closed for a long time, but it finally has a reopening date. It will reopen on May 3rd with some big updates.
Soarin’
Soarin’ Around the World will be closed 5/14-25. It will reopen 5/26 as Soarin’ Across America.
Typhoon Lagoon
Typhoon Lagoon water park is currently closed. It reopens May 12th. Both Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach will be open for the whole summer.
The Walt Disney Studios Courtyard
Animation Courtyard closed last year for a big revamp. It will reopen as The Walt Disney Studios Courtyard on 5/26.
Rock n Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets
Rock n Roller Coaster Starring the Muppets officially opens on May 26th.
WDW Railroad Frontierland Station
The Walt Disney World Railroad Frontierland Station is closed because of construction in the area. There is not a reopening date yet. The railroad is still running between the other stations.
Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live
Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live is a new show coming to Hollywood Studios. It opens on 5/6.
Wildlife Express Train, Affection Section, & Animal Care at Conservation Station
Wildlife Express Train, Affection Section, & Animal Care at Conservation Station are all closed while Animal Kingdom gets ready for Bluey’s Wild World. These attractions will reopen on 6/14.
