These are the Disney World closures for 2026 that have been announced so far. More will always pop up, especially throughout the year. These closures include rides, lands, restaurants, and other experiences. Some of them are already closed and others will be closing in the next few months. You will want to know all of the closures for your upcoming trip.
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad closed in January 2025 for a major refurbishment. They redid the ride track on the entire ride and are adding extra magic to the Rainbow Caverns scene and more. This ride is expected to reopen in 2026, but it is unknown exactly when.
Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster
Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith will remain open for the rest of 2025, then it will close sometime in 2026. The Aerosmith theme is going away and the new theme will be Muppets. It will reopen with Muppets sometime later in 2026, so the changes are not expected to take too long.
DinoLand USA
All of DinoLand USA is set to close permanently on February 2, 2026. So that means the last day to experience this land in Animal Kingdom will be February 1, 2026.
DINOSAUR
DINOSAUR will also be closing permanently on February 2, 2026. This is the main attraction that will be missed the most. Disney is building a new Tropical Americas land here called Pueblo Esperanza. It will feature an Encanto ride, an Indiana Jones ride, a carousel, and more. Read about the new rides coming to Disney World here.
Restaurantosaurus
Restaurantosaurus is a a quick service restaurant located in DinoLand USA in Animal Kingdom. It will be closing permanently, so the last day to eat here is February 1, 2026.
Trilo-Bites
Trilo-Bites is another restaurant in DinoLand USA that is closing for good on February 2, 2026. It is a quick-service question.
Dino-Bite Snacks
Dino-Bite Snacks is also a quick-service restaurant in DinoLand USA in Animal Kingdom. It is closing permanently on February 2, 2026.
Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin
Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin is an interactive Tomorrowland ride in Magic Kingdom. It closed at the beginning of August 2025 for a major refurbishment. It is getting new ride vehicles, new blasters, and new scenes. Fans have been wanting updates for a while, so this is exciting. It is set to open sometime in 2026. Animation Courtyard
Animation Courtyard is in Hollywood Studios. It closed on September 25, 2025 to get some big updates. It will be closed until sometime in 2026.
Walt Disney World Railroad Station in Frontierland
The Walt Disney World Railroad remains open operating between Main Street, USA and Fantasyland, but the Frontierland Station is currently closed. It closed in July when the Rivers of America permanently closed. It will likely be closed until they are done with all of the construction in the area to build the new Pixar Cars land called Piston Peak National Park.
The Skyliner
The Skyliner is a free mode of transportation around the Walt Disney World Resorts that you can use to go between parks and resorts. Thankfully it is not closing permanently, but it will be closed for maintenance from January 25th through 31st in 2026.
