Cars Land is my absolute favorite area in California Adventure! It’s beautiful, has a happy energy, and you really feel like you’re in Radiator Springs in the Cars movies.
There’s a lot of fun going on at all times in Cars Land, like Lightning McQueen, Mater, and other cars driving around and meeting guests.
There are three fun rides, Flo’s V8 Cafe, and tons of hidden Mickeys to be found.
Did you know that something special happens every night in Cars Land though?
It’s called the sh-boom lighting. Every night at sunset all of the Radiator Springs neon lights turn on and they play the Sh-Boom song.
It literally feels like you’re in the scene in the firs Cars movie where Lightning McQueen gets all of their neon lights fixed and surprises the Radiator Springs residents with it and the Sh-Boom song plays.

You can ask cast members in Cars Land what time to expect the lights to come on, then hangout on the street in Cars Land and wait for it.
This is something that all Pixar Cars fans should experience! It’s also one of the most romantic things you can do in Disneyland.
