These are all of the closures at Disney World this week from July 28th through August 3rd. If you are going to be going on a Disney World vacation this week, then you’ll definitely want to know about these closures for rides and other things.
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is a roller coaster in Frontierland in Magic Kingdom. It closed in January of 2025 for refurbishments and is expected to open sometime in 2026. It will be exciting to see what changes they have made to this attraction.
Starbucks on the West Side of Disney Springs
If you’re going to be visiting Disney Springs at Disney World, then you should know that Starbucks on the West side of Disney Springs is currently closed. It’s been closed for a few months and was expected to open this summer.
The Rivers of America
The Rivers of America was in Frontierland in Magic Kingdom park. This whole area just closed permanently on July 7, 2025.
Tom Sawyer Island
Tom Sawyer Island in Magic Kingdom also closed on July 7th as it was accessible via the Rivers of America. That means you will not be able to go here anymore.
Liberty Square Riverboat
Liberty Square Riverboat also recently closed on July 7th when the Rivers of America did. This area is changing to a Pixar Cars themed land called Piston Peak National Park that will feature two new rides.
Muppets Courtyard
Muppets Courtyard was a land in Hollywood Studios park. This whole land permanently closed recently on June 8th, so if you’re going to Disney World this week, you will not be able to experience Muppets Courtyard.
Muppet*Vision 3D
Muppet*Vision 3D was the main attraction in Muppets Courtyard. This ride permanently closed on June 8th with the rest of the area. This area closed because Disney is building a Monsters, Inc. land in its place. Read about the new Disney World rides coming here.
Upcoming Closures
Looking ahead to next week, Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin will be closing on August 4th for some major refurbishments. That means this is the last week to ride it and Sunday August 3rd is the last day it will be open for a while. It is expected to reopen sometime in 2026.
