If you have a Disney World vacation planned during the week of August 25th and August 31st, then you will need to know about all of these closures before you go. They include rides and more. It’s good to know about them beforehand so you aren’t disappointed when you get there and find out something is closed.
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is currently closed and will be until sometime in 2026. Disney World is doing some updates and adding extra magic to the ride. This ride is located in Frontierland in Magic Kingdom park.
Frontierland Station of Walt Disney World Railroad
The railroad station in Frontierland is currently closed and has been since July. The Walt Disney World Railroad is still operating, but only going between Fantasyland and Main Street, USA.
West Disney Springs Starbucks
If you’ll be spending some time in Disney Springs on your trip, note that Starbucks on the west side is currently closed and it is unknown exactly when it will reopen.
Spaceship Earth
Spaceship Earth in EPCOT is going to close on August 25th for refurbishment. It is unknown how long the closure of this attraction will last for.
Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin
Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin is a fun and popular attraction in Tomorrowland in Magic Kingdom park. It is currently closed and will remain closed until 2026. Upcoming Closures
The Boneyard play area in Animal Kingdom is closing permanently on September 2nd. Blizzard Beach water park will close for maintenance on September 8th, but Typhoon Lagoon will remain open during this time. Animation Courtyard is closing for some major updates on September 25th.
