If you’re going to Disneyland in August 2025, then you’ll want to know about these changes going on at the Disneyland Resort. There are some new events starting, things ending, and ride closures happening.
Halloween Time Starts At Disneyland
Halloween Time at The Disneyland Resort officially starts on August 22nd. This means the Mickey pumpkin and decor will be on Main Street, seasonal foods will be available, and more.
New Character Outfits
When the Halloween season starts, the classic characters you see on Main Street, USA in Disneyland will start wearing new Halloween outfits. This includes Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, and their friends.
Mickey’s Autumn Adventures Buffet
Mickey’s Autumn Adventures Buffet is a character dining experience you can do from August 22nd through November 16th. It’s at Storyteller’s Cafe in the Grand Californian Hotel & Spa. You will need reservations before going.
Clarabelle’s Enchanted Halloween Dinner
Clarabelle’s Enchanted Halloween Dinner is a new character dining experience coming to Storyteller’s Cafe at dinner time. It will run from August 22nd till October 31st. You will need to get reservations beforehand.
Goofy’s Kitchen Celebrates Halloween
Goofy’s Kitchen is a character dining restaurant in the Disneyland Hotel. It will change to be Halloween themed on August 22nd and stay that way through October 31st. The characters will be in Halloween costumes.
Choc Walk
The Choc Walk will be in Disneyland park and California Adventure park on August 3rd. You can register on their website to signup for the event.
Mickey’s Trick and Treat
Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live in the Disney Theater in California Adventure park will stop running temporarily. It is replaced by a Halloween show called Mickey’s Trick & Treat during the Halloween season. This show will run from August 17th until October 31st.
Haunted Mansion Holiday Is Back
Haunted Mansion will close in early August to become Haunted Mansion Holiday. It will open on August 22nd and have the Nightmare Before Christmas overlay. Read about the Disneyland rides that change for Halloween here.
Radiator Screams
Radiator Springs aka Cars Land will change to Radiator Screams on August 22nd for the Halloween season. The whole land gets decorated, some of the rides change, and the Cars characters dress up in costumes.
Oogie Boogie Bash Starts
Oogie Boogie Bash starts on August 17th and is on select nights until October 31st. It is a Halloween party in California Adventure park, so California Adventure will close early on the nights of the event. You must have a separate ticket to attend.
Plaza de la Familia
Plaza de la Familia starts on August 22nd and goes until November 2nd. This is at Paradise Gardens in California Adventure park. It is Coco themed.
Summer Crowds Ending
The busy summer crowds typically start to go down in mid-August when kids go back to school for the year.
Ride Closures
Ride closures for the month of August include Incredicoaster, Haunted Mansion, Radiator Springs Racers, Star Tours – The Adventure Continues, Storybook Land Canal Boats, and Casey Jr. Circus Train.
Other Closures
Other closures at Disneyland in August include Redwood Creek Challenge Trail, the walkway between Cars Land and Avenger Campus, and Napa Rose. Read about all of the ride closures and other closures here.
Better Together: A Pixar Pals Celebration! Is Pausing
The parade Better Together: A Pixar Pals Celebration! is in California Adventure park. It has been going this summer, but will not be running during the Halloween season. The last day to see it for now is August 3rd, but it will be back at a later date.
