Walt Disney World’s Anniversary

Walt Disney World started with just Magic Kingdom park which opened on October 1st, 1971. 9 years later EPCOT opened on October 1st, 1982. Be on the lookout for special birthday celebrations in those two parks on October 1st. Disney has not announced anything yet, but there have been birthday celebrations in the past.
Minnie’s Seasonal Dining

Minnie’s Seasonal Dining starts on October 12th during lunch and dinner time. This is at the restaurant Hollywood & Vine located in Echo Lake in Hollywood Studios park. You need reservations to eat here.
Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend

The Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend is October 23rd through 26th. This is a RunDisney event with several races including a 5k, 10k, and Half Marathon. The theme is different eats each day.
Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is Ending

Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party in Magic Kingdom is ending in October with October 31st being the last day of the event. The dates for it in October are October 2, 3, 5, 7, 9, 10, 13, 14, 16, 17, 19, 23, 24, 26, 28, 30 and 31.
Halloween is Ending

The Halloween season as a whole is also ending in October with Halloween Day, October 31st, being the last day to experience Halloween offerings at Disney World.
Fall Break

Some schools across America have fall break which is where they have a few days or up to a week off of school. This causes more families to go on vacation during this time.
Higher Crowds

You can expect to see higher crowds in October, especially the closer you get to Halloween day. This is because of fall break and the Halloween season.
EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival

The EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival will be running for all of October with its end date being later in November. This festival brings food, concerts, and more.
Ride Closures
