Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway (MMRR) is a newer and very popular ride at Disneyland located in Mickey’s Toontown.
This ride is super cute and really fun to go on. It’s my favorite Disneyland ride and some of my kids’ favorite as well.
The wait time for this ride gets up there during the day, often reaching wait times of over an hour. Thankfully the queue for this ride is insanely cute and will keep you somewhat entertained.
This ride is not included with your Genie+ service, but you can buy an Individual Lightning Lane.
We’ve figured out what the two best times are for getting in line for this ride without waiting an hour or more and we’re about to tell you!
1. Rope Drop
Rope dropping is when you get to the park early and wait at the ropes for the park to open. Not a ton of guests do this, so the wait times are typically really low and you can get a lot of rides done in a short amount of time.
Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway is a great choice for rope dropping and heading straight to when the park opens up.
You will usually have a very short wait time, like 5-10 minutes and most of that time will just be you walking through the long queue of the ride.
This is the best time to go on MMRR if you get to the parks early and don’t want to stay late at night.
2. After The Fireworks
Toontown closes from 8pm to 10pm for the fireworks. Sometimes it can open a few minutes early, so we suggest getting to Mickey’s Toontown around 9:50pm so you’re some of the first guests into Toontown when it reopens.
Head straight to the line for MMRR and you’ll usually be able to get onto the ride with a wait time of 10 minutes or less.
This is a perfect option for people who like to close down the park and stay late. Check the Disneyland firework schedule to find out which nights they’re doing fireworks so you can implement this plan.
Conclusion
MMRR is a super fun ride, but you don’t want to spend a large chunk of your day waiting in line for it.
Use these tips to have a shorter wait time for it and get more done during your day at The Happiest Place On Earth.
