These are the changes at the Disneyland Resort in September 2026 to know about if you will be there.
Halloween Time goes all month
This is the first full month of Halloween time at Disneyland Resort. There are so many fun things going on including characters in costumes, decor on Main Street USA, Halloween foods, Halloween ride overlays, and more.
Oogie Boogie Bash
Oogie Boogie Bash will be on select nights all throughout September in California Adventure park. The dates are September 1, 3, 6, 8, 10, 13, 15, 17, 20, 22, 24, 27, and 29th. California Adventure will close at 6pm on those dates.
Fireworks will not be every night
Fireworks were every night in the summer, but not anymore. The nighttime show at the castle this month is Halloween Screams. It will have Fireworks 9/4-7, 11-13, 18-20, 25-27 and Projections 9/1-3, 8-10, 14-17, 21-24, 28-30.
World of Color not every night
World of Color will not be every night like in the summer either. World of Color One is at 9pm on nights without Oogie Boogie Bash.
Lower crowds
You can expect to see lower crowds in September. Kids are back in school and the bigger Halloween crowds come in October.
Ride Closures
Indiana Jones Adventure is closing 9/8 with no reopening date yet.
Mad Tea Party is closing 9/14 and the reopening date is unknown. Silly Symphony Swings is still closed with no reopening date.
Sailing Ship Columbia will be closed 9/21-24 and Mark Twain Riverboat will be closed 9/8-11.
Other Closures
Frontierland Shootin’ Exposition is currently closed, but reopening 9/11. Pirates Lair on Tom Sawyer Island will be closed 9/14-16. Minnie & Friends Breakfast in the Park at Plaza Inn is closed, but will return in late September. Chiller at Paradise Gardens Park is closed with no reopening date. Meet Tinker Bell at Pixie Hollow is closed Tuesdays & Thursdays. The walkway between Cars Land and Avengers Campus is closed with no Reopening date.
