These are all of the closures at the Disneyland Resort for the month of September 2025 that have been announced so far. More can be added at any time since we are not always given a lot of notice for closures. These closures include rides, restaurants, walkways, and more.
Dumbo the Flying Elephant
Dumbo The Flying is a beloved attraction in Fantasyland in Disneyland. It is going to have a quick closure from September 16th through September 17th. This will be sad for the people who are only there on those two days.
Pirates Lair on Tom Sawyer Island
Pirates Lair on Tom Sawyer Island is also going to have a quick closure in September. It will be closed September 15th through 17th, then reopen on September 18th.
Radiator Springs Racers
Radiator Springs Racers is one of the most popular attractions at The Disneyland Resort. It is located in Cars Land in California Adventure park. It will be closing for refurbishment on August 18th and reopening September 26th.
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is a thrilling roller coaster in Frontierland in Disneyland. It is going to be closing for maintenance on September 2nd. It is unknown how long this ride closure will be for. This ride is also closed in Disney World right now. See the Disney World September closures here.
Star Tours – The Adventures Continue
Star Tours – The Adventures Continue will be reopening on September 5th. It has been closed since the end of June 2025, so this is very exciting for Star Wars fans. This ride is located in Tomorrowland in Disneyland park.
Mark Twain Riverboat
Mark Twain Riverboat is another short closure scheduled for September. It will be closed from September 8th through 11th, then back up and running on the 12th.
Storybook Land Canal Boats
Storybook Land Canal Boats is a super cute and nostalgic boat ride attraction in Fantasyland in Disneyland. It has been closed since July 2025 and does not have a reopening timeline, so it will likely be closed for some or all of September.
Casey Jr. Circus Train
Casey Jr. Circus Train is another ride closure you can expect to see in the line-up for September closures at Disneyland. It closed at the end of July 2025 and does not have a reopening date yet.
Sailing Ship Columbia
Sailing Ship Columbia in Disneyland is closing for a few days for maintenance. It will be closed September 22nd through 25th.
Goofy’s Sky School
Goofy’s Sky School in California Adventure park will be closed September 28th through October 4th. This is a mouse trap style ride in Paradise Gardens Park.
Napa Rose
Napa Rose is currently closed for refurbishment. This is a restaurant inside of the Grand Californian Hotel & Spa. It should reopen in the fall of 2025.
The Walkway From Avengers Campus to Cars Land
The walkway that takes you between Cars Land and Avengers Campus is currently closed due to construction on the Avengers Campus expansion where they are adding two new rides to the land. Read about the new rides coming here.
Upcoming Closures
It’s A Small World usually closes mid-October to change it to It’s A Small World Holiday for the Christmas season. Also, Monsters, Inc. Mike & Sulley to the Rescue is closing permanently in early 2026 to make room for the new Avatar land coming to California Adventure park.
