These are all of the Disney World ride closures for September that have been announced so far. More can always be added to this list since Disney does not always give a lot of notice for closures. It’s good to know about these before your September Disney World trip so you can plan out what you are going to do in the Disney World theme parks while you are there. Thankfully, September does not have a ton of closures that have been announced. Hopefully more do not get added to the lineup.
Spaceship Earth

Spaceship Earth is going to be closing on August 25th for refurbishment. It is unknown when this attraction will reopen, but it will most likely be closed for some or all of the month of September. It is located inside the EPCOT ball.
Walt Disney World Railroad Frontierland Station

The Walt Disney World Railroad is in Magic Kingdom in Disney World. It is up and running, but the railroad station in Frontierland is currently closed for refurbishment. You can still use the stations in Fantasyland and Main Street.
Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin

Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin is an interactive attraction in Tomorrowland in Magic Kingdom. It closed at the beginning of August 2025 for a big refurbishment and will not open until sometime in 2026. The ride is getting new scenes, new blasters, new ride vehicles, and more.
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad

Big Thunder Mountain Railroad in Frontierland in Magic Kingdom is currently closed for a major refurbishment. It closed in January 2025 and will be closed until early 2026. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is also closed in Disney World. Read about Disney World ride closures for September here.
The Boneyard

The Boneyard is a playground for children in DinoLand USA in Animal Kingdom park. It is going to be permanently closing on September 2nd.
Blizzard Beach

Blizzard Beach is one of the Walt Disney World water parks. It is going to be closing for maintenance on September 8th. Typhoon Lagoon will stay open while Blizzard Beach is closed.
Upcoming Closures

Upcoming closures at Disney World include Dinosaur closing permanently in early 2026, Jungle Cruise will likely close in October to change to Jingle Cruise for Christmas, and Rock n Roller Coaster will close in 2026 to be rethemed to Muppets.
