These are the exciting things coming to Disney World in 2025, 2026, and beyond that have been announced so far. They include rides, lands, lounges, shows, and more. There is so much to look forward to at Disney World in the coming years.
The Beak and Barrel
The Beak and Barrel is a new Pirates of the Caribbean themed lounge in Adventureland in Magic Kingdom. It will be opening on August 29th.
Zootopia: Better Zoogether!
Zootopia: Better Zoogether! is a new show coming to Animal Kingdom park. It should open at the end of 2025. The attraction It’s Tough to be a Bug closed permanently to make room for this new Zootopia themed show.
Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin Updates
Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin is in Tomorrowland in Magic Kingdom. It is currently closed and reopening sometime in 2026 with major updates. It will have new blasters, new scenes, new ride vehicles, and more.
Mandalorian and Grogu On Smuggler’s Run
Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run will be getting an update in 2026 where it will feature the Mandalorian and Grogu. It will also have scenes in new locations including Tattooine, Endor, Coruscant, and Bespin.
Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Retheming
Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith is going to permanently close in 2026 and get rethemed to Muppets. It will then reopen later in 2026 with the new changes. This is a roller coaster in Hollywood Studios park. Read more about changes coming to Disney World rides here.
Animation Courtyard Updates
Animation Courtyard in Hollywood Studios is getting some big changes and is expected to reopen in 2026. It will have a new entrance with the Sorcerer Mickey hat, an Alice in Wonderland play area, a short film playing, character greetings, and more.
Tropical Americas Land
Animal Kingdom park is going to get a new Tropical Americas land. It will feature an Indiana Jones attraction, an Encanto attraction, and more. It is expected to open in 2027.
Monsters, Inc. Land
Hollywood Studios permanently closed Muppets Courtyard to build a new Monsters, Inc. land in its place. It will have a Monsters, Inc. themed suspension roller coaster, shopping, and dining. There is not an expected opening date, but construction has started.
Villains Land
Magic Kingdom is getting a new land that will be themed around Disney villains. It will have two major attractions, shopping, dining, and more. This is part of the Beyond Big Thunder expansion.
Piston Peak National Park
The Rivers of America in Frontierland in Magic Kingdom closed so Disney can build a new Pixar Cars area called Piston Peak National Park. It will have two attractions.
