If you have a Disneyland trip coming up, you’ll need to make sure you do these things at least one month before your trip. This will help your trip go smoother and you’ll be ready for it.
Check Ride Closures
Most ride closures are announced with enough time to check them 30 days in advance. You’ll want to check closer to your trip again though. Knowing what rides will be closed will help you plan your vacation and manage expectations.
Get Dining Reservations
You actually want to get your dining reservations when they open up, which is 60 days in advance. If you didn’t get them that early though, then hurry and secure what you can a month in advance. Some restaurants book up very quickly, like character dining.
Check The Park Hours
Go to Disneyland’s app or website to see what the park hours are for each park on the days you’ll be there. Sometimes the parks close early for special events and you’ll want to know about that beforehand.
Write Out Your Packing List
Make a list of everything you’ll need to pack. Making this list early will allow time for you to remember things you forgot to add to it and will help you see what you need.
Buy Things You’ll Need
Start buying the things on your packing list that you don’t have and will need for your trip. This can include ponchos, toiletries, Minnie ears, and fun Disney shirts.
Figure Out Your Transportation
If you haven’t already figured out transportation from the airport to your hotel, then it’s time to decide what you’re going to do. You can book a rental car or download apps for Uber or Lyft.
Learn About Virtual Queues And Lightning Lanes
If you’ve never used virtual queues or Lightning Lanes, then you’ll want to learn how to do them before your trip and figure out which rides you want to go on that you’ll need them for.
Download The Disneyland App
If you don’t already have the Disneyland app, download it now and poke around to learn how to use it. This will have your park tickets on it and you’ll use it to do mobile ordering, check wait times, book Lightning Lanes, and so much more.
Write Down Your App Login
Write down your login info for the Disneyland app. You don’t want to be in the theme park, get logged out, and have to waste time figuring out your password or resetting it.
Break In New Shoes
If you buy new shoes for your trip, start breaking them in about a month before your trip. You do not want to wear brand new shoes with how much you’ll be walking.
Check The Entertainment Calendar
Look at the entertainment calendar so you can decide what you want to see and know the times. This can include parades, fireworks, and other shows.
Go On Walks
You are going to walk a ton at Disneyland, most likely more than you walk at home. Start going on daily walks so your feet are ready for a lot of walking in the theme parks.
Online Check-in
If you’re staying at one of the Disneyland hotels you can do the online check-in for your stay. You can also just do this in person when you’re there if you prefer.
Learn The Rules
It’s good to brush up on the rules of what you can and can’t bring into the parks so you don’t have any problems when you get to security.
Get Your DAS Pass If Needed
A DAS pass is a Disability Access Pass. If you or someone you are traveling with needs this, you can get it 30 days in advance. You can preregister virtually and have it ready in the app for when you go.
