If you have an upcoming Disneyland vacation, you’ll want to make sure you do these things about a week before your trip so you’re prepared and ready to go.
Check The Weather
You’ll definitely want to check the weather for the dates you’ll be in Anaheim for your trip. This will help you decide how to dress. If it shows rain, you’ll definitely want a poncho and rain jacket. Even if the forecast does not show rain, it’s good to bring one in case that changes.
Plan Your Character Meet n Greets
In the Disneyland app you can check what characters will be out for meet n greets in Disneyland and in California Adventure. This can change daily, so you’ll want to check again closer to your trip, but check about a week out to have an idea of who will be there.
Check The Entertainment Calendar
Check the Disneyland schedule of events so you know what will be happening when you’re there like fireworks, parades, and shows. You can plan your days around the entertainment you want to see.
Pack For Your Trip
It’s not too early to start packing for your trip, although most of your packing will probably be done a couple of days in advance.
Buy Last Minute Items
If you start packing early, you’ll see what you still need to purchase for your trip. Doing this about a week in advance will still allow time to buy last-minute things you’ll need like toiletries or ponchos.
Check Ride Closures
Check for ride closures before your trip so you know ahead of time which rides you will not be able to go on. The Disneyland app will show current closures, but you can look online for upcoming ride closures.
Learn About Lightning Lanes and Virtual Queues
If you’ve never used Lightning Lanes and Virtual Queues before, you should read some blog post or watch YouTube videos to understand how they work. This will help you go on rides that you will need them for.
Check The Park Hours
Check the park hours for the days you’ll be in the parks so you know what times they open and close. Sometimes they close early for special events, so you’ll want to be aware of that.
Go On Walks
You are going to walk a ton at Disneyland! Start going on daily walks to get your feet and legs used to walking more.
Look At The Restaurant Menus
Disneyland and California Adventure have a lot of restaurants and the menus change somewhat frequently. You don’t want to waste time in the parks figuring out which foods to eat. Look at Instagram and blogs to see what meals and snacks people love.
